This is ridiculous indeed! It's already difficult to maintain accounts in the US when residing abroad, that would make it impossible and insanely costly. There needs to be a guarantee that US citizens can keep their accounts in the US as they are without fear of them being closed randomly.

So they lost both gens, didn’t think to turn on the APU, or didn’t have time… Sounds like another Boeing design flaw not to have battery backup for recorders, radios, and transponder.

Bangkok is really not a great place to store planes. Way too humid… most of TG’s planes have super faded paint, even their 787s. It’s a really weird airline, they have a couple of planes from each model, that can’t be sustainable!

Also in most smaller places in the US, you’ll experience some amount of racism. People vanish once they have kids and only want to do kid-related activities all the time unlike in Europe…

I'm at the same crossroads, with a similar experience. I also live in a city that turned to shit during/after covid with crime off the charts and no protection against it from cops or politicians. So all my local taxes get "pissed into the wind". The tradeoff for me is pretty simple: Am I ready to give up a higher compensation in exchange for public services like transit and healthcare, safer environment and non-toxic food and water, and almost no risk of getting shot by a thug or a right-wing terrorist? That's the big question, but I think I'll take the citizenship just in case and move back after I obtain it.
