How “nice” are people to you in your car(s)?

Used to be cool: Tesla Model 3 - I got mine early 2018 and people were so stoked to see me on the road. People waved, I took my hands off the wheel, it was a different time. Once the model Y came out, no one cared anymore. Sleeper that most people didn’t care: Audi RS6 - just wasn’t special to car people and non car people had no idea it was cool, even with BBS wheels. Surprisingly tons of attention: Mercedes AMG GT C - it’s solarbeam yellow, I get ushered to the supercar lot at every cars and coffee I go to, a dude audibly saying from the line outside a bar “yo I think that’s an AMG GT”. I freaking love this thing and I get to talk to guys with Ferraris, mclarens, and lambos now.

Insurance can cover FSD but it’d be hard to do after it’s subscription only. They’ll just pay you the value, which would be depreciated anyway.

I mean technically it’s still lower than investing in an index fund. If your alternative is a savings account, it doesn’t make sense.

Even 3-5% can make sense to finance. And with rates going down, and dealers needing to improve incentives, it’s likely to get much easier soon.

I just got an AMG GT, which somehow has worse efficiency than my 03 RS6, and I just can’t imagine driving something that consistently got <10. People daily drive these too, I still only fill up a couple times a month and even then it’s still like half full.

He is so wrong about the interior. He literally spends half the video saying how weird it is (more like shitty, I was given it as a loaner and couldn’t wait to return it), then says he likes it at the end? It is the absolutely ugliest pile of dog shit in its segment, which is such a huge departure from the standard energy sword gen before it. Compare this to an X5 or even the X1 which are both significantly better looking inside and out.

I think it's the other way around, Honda wanted Sony for their ability to make infotainment (playstation, movies, UIs that don't duck, etc.). It's possible they wanted Sony too for battery technology, but I haven't heard if Sony is good with that? Problem is they thought that would leapfrog them past Acura into a whole new price point, which neither company can really do, in terms of reputation and as we know now, specs for the price.

Front is angular, rear is curvy, what? I get that they want the halo car to set the design language, but it's halfway. Should have done something like the 720S and 750S that feels different yet familiar, instead this just looks like a different make from the front.

I’ve had mine for 6 years and they were significantly common for the first 4ish years I’d say. 50/50 chance it would brake hard before going under a bridge on autopilot. It was super annoying. Now it doesn’t really do it, but it is overly cautious about slowing for merging cars and such.
