I love them - in NI we rarely get above 25 in the heatwaves which is just right. No matter where you are in Ireland you’re never too far from a sea breeze

I just watched a Christmas totp review of the year from late 70s the other night and you’re spot on, the charts were SO diverse. Everything now is so homogenised

'Corporate Class' accent - has anyone ever noticed a certain way of speaking that seems like someone aspiring the be in the corporate class or forcing a trans-atlantic twang? Seems to be London-based (males) and includes things like 'lad-er' instead of later... Or 'sure, sure' with hurried nodding.

That’s the weird thing about learning a language - you think you’re just learning verbs and vocabulary but you’re also learning the accent of your teacher. I learned to speak Spanish through Duolingo and people in Spain tell me I’ve a Mexican accent which is hilarious to me
