Northern Ireland is 355% self reliant in terms of beef if that helps. Problem is there is so much slurry spread we have algae blooms and soils are saturated with phosphorus.

I'd wear a white one. When I was 16 I read the war diaries of many soldiers that fought in the trenches, obsessively watched the World at War documentaries. Then watched our government fall into an American war with no justification which had spun us into a permanent conflict. Lest we forget???!!!! I knew a simple soldier boy Who grinned at life in empty joy, Slept soundly through the lonesome dark, And whistled early with the lark. In winter trenches, cowed and glum, With crumps and lice and lack of rum, He put a bullet through his brain. No one spoke of him again. . . . . You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye Who cheer when soldier lads march by, Sneak home and pray you'll never know The hell where youth and laughter go. They forget the soldiers when they come home. We send them out with shit gear sometimes. It's bullshit I'm afraid. We're cannon fodder to the war mongers.

Compared to many I'd say yes. We have German's married into our family and their directness is often seen as being rude. The Dutch are a happy medium in my experience.

I'm from Lincolnshire originally and because it's a rural place people can be more wary of you because they're not used to being around folk they haven't known their whole lives. But in general they're very friendly and approachable. I live in Northern Ireland now and they're some of the friendliest folks around. Best of luck.

Depending where you are you're around agribusiness not agriculture. We operate nearly the same regulations. It's just scales. We are moving towards sustainable agricultural practices but you'll have to look hard to find permaculture plots, biodynamic farms and forest farming.
