This is what I am learning now. Accelerate to required speed, then coast to the next roundabout, rather than driving and breaking at it, and try not to fully stop.

Does everyone else get much lower MPG than expected?

Thats what I thought, but apparently it's not actually true. In cities you are creeping around and slow speeds. Grid roads and a constant cycle of accelerating and breaking. It kills the MPG.

It also isnt going away by focusing only on the surface level. The bigger problem is the driving force behind it. This is not a race problem, its a racism problem and it dates back decades. My point is that a 'changing demographic' does not automatically explain a rise in knife crime. More black people doesnt equal more knife crime. I bet most of the perpetrators in MK have been here a long time, not part of the 'changing demographic'. Its a socioeconomic issue, not a race issue, but it is a racism issue, because a certain demographic has been disproportionately sidelined into a lower socioeconomic status. Thats the reality.

Black people are disproportionately represented largely in London based knife crime, marginally outside of London. Black people are also disproportionately represented in socioeconomic status in London and throughout the UK. It is absolutely caused by systemic issues which affect the black community. It is not caused by black people in general, and a growing number of black people in MK is not the obvious cause of a knife crime increase, it is the most simple minded explanation. Perhaps inadequate public services, which were stripped to their bare basics during 14 years of a government who did not prioritise them, had led to a lack of welfare or resources in the growing community of MK, and this had led to the increase in knife crime. That would make much more sense than 'demographics have changed'.

Are black people disproportionately victims of knife crime _because_ they are black, or is it something else which just so happens to affect black people disproportionately? My point was that knife crime is a symptom of a different problem, rather than a growth in the black population. My Reform point is well placed because this type of comment/thinking is the fuel to the rise of reform.

This is more of an explanation than demographic changes. The issues that cause knife crime are socioeconomic, not ethnicity. The only way race factors into it is when we consider the systemic disparity which caused lots of black and brown people to be those lower socioeconomic classes.

This person is saying lots of black and brown people came and thats what caused knife crime to rise. Those black and brown people are still there and knife crime has gone down, so I don't know how this works exactly. And lots of the knife crime was committed by white British, but again, its the demographics definitely, mmhmm, and that's why we must all vote reform.

Nearly 30 and stuck on where to buy – Norwich vs Northampton vs Nottingham vs Bury St Edmunds vs mk?

Posted by Worried-Departure386@reddit | miltonkeynes | View on Reddit | 38 comments

TreKeyz@reddit

Norwich is a slower pace of life. It has opportunities but far less than being somewhere like MK simply because of the proximity to London and other cities. Norwich feels like living 10 years behind MK in terms of tech. For example when I left Norwich in 2019 and came to MK - MK had the little delivery robots, had EV charging bays everywhere, had digital pay machines for parking, whereas Norwich had none of the above. It was so outdated it was shocking. It has caught up a bit now, but its always lagging behind new tech and new initiatives. A lot people in Norwich are far simpler and less sharp to interact with - which can be good or bad depending on the situation. Being able to pop into London in 30 minutes is great from MK. Being able to get to the airport in 20 minutes is great too. Norwich is always a much longer journey to go anywhere. And the amount of parks, lakes, and greenspace in MK vastly outnumbers Norwich funnily enough. There is nothing like Willen Lake there. And traffic is a big thing. Everytime I visit Norwich it reminds me of how much time I save by not being stuck in traffic all the time. For me those things make a difference. I went to watch a candlelight concert in Westminster the other week. I am going to watch a theatre play on Broadway soon. I went to a movie premier in Leicester Square. Locally I go for walks or bike rides around Willen Lake, or through Ouse Valley. There are lots of little festivals in Campbell park in the summer. CMK is great for shopping and there are regular events happening in the big square in the shopping centre from fashion shows to lego festivals (although for more independent shops you have to go to Bletchley, Stoney, Newport Pagnell, or Wolverton). But then, even that is nice, we have these set areas with different vibes. Central is more like a USA style city, whereas the other areas are more classic British - Best of both worlds. I prefer it. We have Xacape with a fricking ski-slope in it. Its very cool. But, Night life here in terms of bars and clubs pales in comparison to Norwich. If I were still younger and single I would find it frustrating when I want to party. Yes, I can go to London, but last train back is midnight, and that ain't what you want when partying. Norwich was way better for that. Norwich felt significantly more safe. Its the nature of larger cities, but its noticeable. No where near as many of these little road men types, and that is nice and comfortable. Norwich is charming and the historic architecture is so nice to see. After living there for a while you forget to look around and take it all in, but when I visit now I really notice all the Tudor and Georgian buildings. It is very cute. People are friendly. It doesnt feel as 'dog eat dog' at all, which brings calm and pace, but also less innovation and drive. I think Norwich is great when you are ready to slow down. But if you still want to build and grow, being somewhere like MK wins. Bury St Edmunds you should leave it put. Its like a fraction of what Norwich has, but with prices more like MK. Its very dull and very boring. Northampton would only be suitable as a place to buy something and get more for your money but have access to places like MK. I personally prefer to pay the premium to live in MK, because you lose some of the benefits (like less traffic) by being outside of it. In my opinion your list comes down to Norwich vs MK. Forget the others. And that answer is really about what you want out of life. If you want pace, calm, but still things to do, and dont mind being out the way of everywhere else, then Norwich is great. If you want more action and activity and growth potential with nice parks and more varied locations to visit then MK is better. Night life Norwich wins. Day life, MK wins. Side note. I run a mortgage brokerage in town called Three Keys Mortgages. I also have clients in Norwich. Have you properly explored your buying potential? If not, get in touch, and I will help you get all the answers you need in terms of what you can borrow and what you can afford. If you have any follow up questions just ask. I know both cities like the back of my hand.

The downside of Norwich is the distance to everywhere else. I lived in Norwich for 14 years. I know whats great about it and I know its limitations. I wouldn't move back, but my friends wouldn't leave there. It all depends on your priorities. Funnily enough MK is far greener than Norwich. Traffic in Norwich on a weekend is hell on earth, which MK never has. I could write a whole list of pros and cons.

This isn't necessarily a porn addiction. A few things might have triggered this kink. He may have had a intense fear of being inadequate or being cheated on, and his body, as a defense mechanism, eroticised his fear, so he started to get please from it, rather than pain. And now he is wired this way. He could be gay and doesnt know, and this is his way of connecting with it. It could be 'sperm competition' which is an evolutionary occurrence where he becomes more virile if he is in competition with another man. It might simply be what is called 'compersion' which is the act of feeling joy by seeing someone you care about experiencing pleasure or joy. Its like when you cook food for someone and want to see them enjoying it. So there are a number of reasons he might be this way, and they are not all as simple as 'porn addiction' (although that is another possibility). None of them means he doesn't find you attractive, but you will have to decide if this is something you can live with, because he won't be losing it.

Do you think all people into more divergent sexual orientations have 'porn addictions', or just those into cuckolding? When I found out about it I read into it (I am interested in psychology) and from what I understand there are people who are into that lifestyle, are a part of it, and don't have porn addictions. I'm sure some people will be a result of porn addiction, but other people are just wired differently. It could be that all sexual kinks derive from some kind of self esteem or early trauma, but people seem to resolve and grow past the trauma but still continue to engage in the kink - bdsm, cuckold, foot fetishes etc. I wouldn't just label the guy as having a porn addiction. He might just have a preference for a divergent sexual kink, and that's fine, as long as he finds someone who genuinely enjoys it too. OP - the main thing here is how you feel. He finds you attractive, this kink has nothing to do with that. Its likely the way he is wired. He has a kink. If you can willingly enjoy it with him then great, but if you can't then you will have to break up, because it probably aint gonna change for him.

I think it's just a matter of perspective. I used to live in Norwich. We had a "heart", the town centre, you can walk through it, it has shops on either side, it's in the middle of the city, etc. Lots of people, lots of footfall, buskers etc. There are two shopping centres/malls connected to it. In MK I have this too, it's just that it's indoors and the shopping centre is a part of it. Other than the fact that it's indoors, there is zero difference. It's in the centre of the city, when I need to get from one side of town to the other I walk through it. Imagine a town centre that keeps you dry when you are going to work. We also have more traditional high streets in Wolverton, Bletchley, Stony, and Newport Pagnell.
