I do love this soulless grey city.

It’s awful. I pity anyone who lives here- like me and my family.
Milesrankin77@reddit
shhhhhhhh don't let them know....! ;)
Jimmyboro@reddit
It drove me mad coming from Middlesbrough and hearing people talk of this (then towns, now both are cities), as grey, concrete and lacking character. It blew me away you can drive through the entire place without seeing a single house, you can walk the red ways and be metres away from nature. It took 45 minutes if driving living in the North East to see the views I get in MK.
Most views of the city actually hides both the estates and centre in a sea of green.
OneEggOmelette@reddit
Middlesbeoguu has plenty of nature thoufh?
Jimmyboro@reddit
And rows and rows of terraced housing along with miles of industrial estates
Whole_Tomatillo7186@reddit
It's great anywhere there aren't buildings.
robjnathan@reddit
Yep, hate it here.
LilacScentedStoat@reddit
I was there a few weeks ago, I was stood up near the Pyramid and looking around, it's a beautiful area... There were loads of dogs running all around, which was great to see. I walked over to the Peace Pagoda and that area is also beautiful.
I really like MK.
Just cross the bridge near Xscape and you're in a seemingly endless green space.
kool_kats_rule@reddit
I was musing earlier that MK is actually one big park that just pretends to be a city.

Always make time to visit Willen Lake when I'm back in MK 🙂 so beautiful!
Elisecobrauk@reddit
There is a good Parkrun there! Especially the Christmas edition!
Noiisy@reddit
Just roundabouts and nothing, I don’t know how people can live there.
Aston_Aviation007@reddit
Tell me you’ve never been to MK without telling me
Even-Wasabi7183@reddit

r/miltonkeynes does not allow hate
DrShankax@reddit
As they should. Everyone has the right to appreciate a lovely park.
andrewh2000@reddit
I'm curious. Why?
SabbthBloodySabbath@reddit
Don't even bother responding to that guy he's clearly a low iq racist
Pleasant-Cellist-927@reddit
People are downvoting you because they think it's a negative statement. My guy is a muslim himself, it's just unfortunate phrasing.
ValuableCream9576@reddit
And another one :)

Got distracted and read the HE listing for the park:

Green_Lychee8221@reddit
Is that landscape natural? The right side looks incredibly artifical.
kool_kats_rule@reddit
Campbell Park - grade 2 listed.
https://www.theparkstrust.com/find-a-park/campbell-park/
A quote via Wikipedia:
"Campbell Park, the city park, links central MK to a vast swathe of parkland down to the Ouse Valley, in all the largest and most imaginative park to have been laid out in Britain in the 20th century"
andrewh2000@reddit
Totally artificially landscaped. I think they took all the soil they scraped off to flatten the shopping centre area and used it for the park. Or something like that.
GamingMunster@reddit
Pretty much all the landscape in this country has been altered by humans
TreKeyz@reddit (OP)
I imagine its been landscaped, but I don't know if I would call it artifical.
No-Refrigerator7258@reddit
Sometimes you just have to take yourself to a park with a lake or a village 🥹
I was just thinking earlier i would enjoy life more if the place didn't look grey most of the time
Dear_Communication59@reddit
Its quite a unique park ngl!
andrewh2000@reddit
I took nearly the same picture some years ago

I’ve just been on a cycle around MK. We were discussing how awful it is not know there are roads close by.
Thalia_All_Along@reddit
I bet this view goes crazy if you're a dog
jjoojjoojj@reddit
We probably saw you on the path.
bilbofraginz@reddit
Funny how you’re right near the centre too.
Glad-Feature-2117@reddit
Yes, it's a concrete dystopian nightmare.
