Yes. My 2 mile commute would become a 50 min bus ride. Our public transportation sucks. I could bike it and I did use to. But then I got a motorcycle. Still cheaper than a car.

Honestly man if you can save for it you can get it. I know all these people are talking from a car is a tool perspective but when it's your hobby, if you can save for your hobby then do it. Only issue is that 30k income is really really low for a lot of the US. Really struggling to see how you could save 1k a month. Also you are going to be in a much more stable financial situation if you saved that money and didn't spend it on a car. Maybe save some then start saving for the car. That way you still have some emergency funds for whatever life throws at you.

My 2010 subaru has window seals that work without winding down the window first. It's because Tesla is electric and they want to maintain maximum sound proofing in the car. But they also want to look sleek so they don't want a window frame. It wasn't cost or practicality that dictated the windows need to be like that. It was form over function. They could have designed electronic door handles that are also mechanical backups but they decided buttons are cooler. Again, form over function. It's fine to choose form over function when it's not a safety issue.

Guys you will always enjoy the extra speed on a nice open empty road. If you can go 25 you'll want to go 30. If you can go 30 you'll want to go 40 etc. Until it gets scary fast. We all have to make the choice if we stick to ebikes and enjoy all the perks that cpme with that or make the jump to motorcycles/emotorcycles.

Let me just set up a charity here that pays for and helps students going into AI related fields. That way I can flood the labor market and drive down the wages I need to pay. Oh and of course this charity needs to spend a bunch of money for lobbying in AIs best interests. Oh and as chairman I need a 55000sqft building to host guests and area to give lectures and teach, complete with accomodation and a wellness spa of course. Oh and of course I need a private jet to bring me to all these AI events that we have set up around the country. Idk, maybe we can just do your idea but instead of giving it to any charity we create a universal basic income? The more money AI makes, the higher the UBI gets.

I agree but also it's fine to be much closer than people are. At 10km/h a 2 second gap is 5.5m. That's slightly over a 1 car gap. Not the 5 or 6 car gap that we see on the regular. The first few start moving together before the others but very quickly all the cars should be moving already. But it all falls apart when car 4 doesn't start accelerating until car 3 is all the way to the front of the line and so on. It should only take a few seconds for all the cars in the line to already be moving. I think that's really what OP is getting at.

Extreme_Design6936@reddit

Just until we clear the light. You'll be going 10-15mph and then the front cars will accelerate more and create a gap. Right now I regularly see up to a 5 car gap between cars going through the light at 10mph. Drives me crazy when we get 7 cars through the light and 15 still waiting for another 2 cycles to get through.

See now that's a good reason. Muscle growth may out pace tendon growth leading to a high risk in injury. That's some solid reasoning I can understand. Thanks for not just being all like "that's not how you use steroids".

Studies have shown that taking steroids even without any training will grow muscle very quickly. Taking steroids and putting in effort to learn things at the gym aren't an either or. You can do both. I understand what steroids are used for. I have this crazy idea that I'm wondering what the barriers are as to why it couldn't work.

Just to be clear this is r/crazyideas I have absolutely no desire to do this at all. I just want to understand *why* it's a bad idea or if it's just something unexplored because people dismiss it immediately. The studies on steroid use without working out and seeing huge muscle growth is what got me interested (not in doing it myself, just interested academically).

>But why would you want to do that? I don't want to do that. I'm more just wondering if someone (not me) can't use steroids to get to big faster. All I hear is everyone saying it's a bad idea but not why it's a bad idea (beyond simply steroid use). You can still get natural gains but so what? You can get gains faster with steroids. You also said you can have form issues. So the main risk is injury?

I think the important point is that ICEs has had a century of mainstream development of the technology. EVs have not. The amount of money that has been poured into ICEs and the amount of development they have received is huge in comparison. When EVs had a resurgence a couple decades ago the development of electric motors happened in leaps and bounds. You don't see that with matured technology.
