The key is validation and coaching - it’s ok to feel bad and to struggle (validate the painful feelings) now let’s sit with this difficult situation and have a think about how you can solve it? ( discuss and encourage them to try options.) find tasks and challenges they can do e.g learning to swim and sit with them as they struggle.
