I was told I have the "Old man ringtone"

Posted by ironicmirror@reddit | GenX | View on Reddit | 618 comments

Bridgeburner1@reddit

I got rid of my grey hair, when my wife went through chemo, over ten years ago, and my ringtone has been a different song from my play lists, for at least the last twenty five years. I was customizing my phone as soon as it was on option. What do these kids know? They practically grew up being coddled and technology was handed to them. They have no frame of reference, with which to measure these things. We were the last ones to go outside and play, and we were the first ones who could set the clock on the VCR. I remember getting the game Pong, and now these kids wouldn't waste their time with something so basic, when their phones have enough processing to facilitate a lunar landing. Okay rant, over. Old man shakes fist at cloud storage!!!

Question: Do you shower after bathing?

Posted by Lonely_Storage2762@reddit | GenX | View on Reddit | 905 comments

Bridgeburner1@reddit

Living with my aunt and uncle, had me (the only boy) bathing after my cousin's, and sister. (Four of them in total) Using the same bath water. It was always cold and murky. Like Quint from Jaws, "I'll never put on a life jacket again!" but mine will be "I'll never take a bath again!" Just give me a hot shower!!

Customers should be allowed to use the intercom at the grocery store.

Who remembers the US bicentennial?

Posted by gatadeplaya@reddit | GenX | View on Reddit | 949 comments

Bridgeburner1@reddit

I was an astronaut in the Fourth of July parade, 1975, Naples Florida. Our rocket was being pulled by a lawn tractor driven by my dad. There were four of us in total, two boys and two girls. I'm pretty sure we were sponsored by the American Legion. That's what I remember of the Bicentennial. I was five at the time.

Name one 90s band that you absolutely cannot stand. Mine is The Offspring.

Are sausage rolls not a very big thing in the US?

Posted by CharacterList7668@reddit | AskAnAmerican | View on Reddit | 1780 comments

Bridgeburner1@reddit

Pizza dough, rolled up with Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, onions, cheese, and sauce, cooked in the oven at 350° for 18 to 20 minutes or so, is what we call a Sausage Roll. We make them often.

Do most Americans go to the beach every summer?

Bridgeburner1@reddit

My childhood was spent at the beach, on a boat, or swimming in lakes and rivers. For most of my adult life I've lived 25 minutes from the gulf of Mexico, but only got to enjoy it, maybe once or twice a year.

A couple scoops of ice cream, a bowl of cereal, milk and chocolate syrup. Pickle sandwiches with mayo. Flattened bread, rolled up like dough, with cinnamon sugar. Also, I'm probably in the minority here, but cereals like Capn. Crunch and Corn Flakes were best, when eaten just as they were getting soggy.
