People who work for just eat as delivery drivers and people who use the service, why is my order wrong more often than not, or is it just me being unlucky?

Yep exactly, we gave up on ordering kfc, it was crap every time so we've gone there twice now and ate it in the car park and it wad lovely, no waiting and the quality was good.

How Do I - A Father - Take Daughter to Toilet in Public?

Posted by Big-Teach-769@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 746 comments

Basic_Memory_4233@reddit

I've used them all, buddy. Preferably I would use the Disabled toilet, sometimes I've taken them in the mens but then it's not really appropriate to take a young girl through a swinging sausage fest and there's been times where I've walked into the mens and thought F that she's not coming in here and then I've gone in the ladies. The important thing is your daughter is safe and comfortable. Especially in this day and age with the whole trans thing, I think it's silly how we, as fathers of young girls, feel so uncomfortable at the possibility of taking them in the ladies.

My sons parents evening was by video call and automatically cut you off at 10 minutes. What other modern practices feel a bit dystopian?

Posted by Careful-Increase-773@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 516 comments

Basic_Memory_4233@reddit

Personally the parents evenings by zoom were the best thing to come out of covid. It's a shame my kids schools reverted back. Also 10 mins is a long time so maybe keep on track and to be honest if there are issues needing longer time then you shouldn't be waiting till parents evening to discuss those issues.

What for stating fact, actual offical fact. Didn't know facts were bigoted?!? I actually find the bigot quite funny, it is wielded on the assumption that the "new way of thinking" is better than previously established norms etc. That's not actually always the case.

Why do councils go bankrupt?

Posted by panda6699@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 34 comments

Basic_Memory_4233@reddit

Because some overspend. Some decide to try and invest large sums of money in a bid to grow it to truck loads of money. Some set up building firms to build houses and get the profit, some built wind farms which then lost vast sums of money inside of making money, I think I heard about one investing in crypto. You can't blame them for being tempted but boy are they bad at it

Why are there two two minutes of silence, both yesterday and today (11th and 12th November)?

Posted by mikebuba@reddit | AskABrit | View on Reddit | 64 comments

Because you always have 2 min silence on Armistice day and rememberence Sunday. So if the 11th was in a Tuesday you'd have the 2 mins silence on the Tuesday and then again on the Sunday. It's not too much hassle for younisnut buddy. 2 x 2 mins remembering all the dead armed forces who died to give us our freedoms we enjoy now.

Basic_Memory_4233@reddit

I always find it hilarious how "brown people" etc get so fricking offended by this question...... there was a white guy some people at my work were talking to, they couldn't nail his accent, they couldn't work out if it was an American accent or an Australian accent (I didn't speak to him so can't pass judgement). They were on the phone to him again and say "so where are you from......." he then goes, oh I'm originally from xyz....... No one got offended, they had a good conversation, no one spoke to HR to get anyone fired, no one boycotted anywhere, the national newspapers didn't get involved instead there was a nice conversation between them and everyone was friends and lived happily ever after.

What are your thoughts on British history/ what we as a country have done in the past?

Posted by I-want-to-unalive@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 253 comments

Basic_Memory_4233@reddit

My personal thoughts...... well done us...... didn't we do well..... we did it bigger and better. Do the British bitch and moan at the Romans and bitch at their pRiViLEgE, do we demand reparations from the Romans. Do the demand reparations from the Nordic countries for their actions. Do we demand reparations from the slavers who abducted the Irish and the British into slavery. The British get a bad rep yet all the big players were at it. The British people of today can honestly say that whilst no one alive owned or traded slaves most people alive have personally paid towards the freeing of the slaves when Britain abolished slavery. Meanwhile France made Tihiti I think it is, made them pay to break their slavers contract so made them buy their own freedom whilst the British tax payer paid for our slaves freedom and then policed it at the cost of many British sailors lives. So yeah go us. There was some bad or questionable practices but the problem we have is you're trying to assert 21st century ethics and practices onto centuries ago. We should be proud of our country. ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

To be honest, this sounds like something you need to be discussing with your partner rather than Reddit. Is it fair to potentially abort his child? Why would you want to carry that burden of guilt around that you'd aborted his child without even talking to him. If you've got a good relationship then this should be a joint decision. If however you feel like you could keep this massive life changing decision away from him then I would question the relationship. Also although you say you're not ready yet, are any of us ready?! (The answers no ๐Ÿ˜‰) it's a major life change but one of many many beautiful memories and moments. But none of us are "ready."

Should fireworks be banned?

Posted by KnucklesRicci@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 37 comments

Basic_Memory_4233@reddit

No, not at all. We've spent many a family gathering with food n fireworks over the decades. Whilst people complain about their dogs being scared one of our dogs used to come out with us when we did fireworks and then tonight i caught my 5mth and 20mth dogs stood in the garden watching the fireworks, they then looked at me for a que to see how they were supposed to react so I reacted positively and made their positive reinforcement sound we do and then they ran round the garden exited and then after that the mrs took them round the block on a walk out in the fireworks. We seem to live in a day and age of cancel culture. People seek out Comedy to be offended so they can cancel it and then with this the few seem to be able to dictate how we're allowed to have fun. People cite people being dicks, yeah and....... police it then. People are dicks in all walks of life, you haven't banned everything else like drinking, driving, just to name 2. We shouldn't bow down to the fun police.
