What do people who have been raised in England do to note Bonfire Night?

I live in England now and I have children who were born here, but I'm not English. I grew up in a place where Bonfire Night wasn't a thing at all, we made a fuss over Halloween - street party, costumes, trick or treating, sparklers, the lot. Halloween is catching on a lot more round here but will my children be the only ones not doing things for Bonfire Night? My husband is away so it's just me and them. Can I get away with sticking some sparklers in a plant pot?
