Seeking Advice from SE Coast (US) Sailors - treking north Fl to NC

Amazing sailing, Gulfstream could be choppy with that bit of northernly wind. Try it out and worse case cruise along the coast, or duck into ICW if gets real bad

Sent it a bit too hard

Good places to begin the sailing life?

Feeling stuck, minimal tidal/current effects, dirty water, far less cool wildlife, worse fishing, generally less breeze, fewer attractions. There’s really no comparison

Catalina 22 or C&C 25?

If you intend to trailer, then Catalina is freakin perfect. If you’re gonna be renting a slip and dealing with all that anyway, gotta go bigger!

Would you rather; buy a a 1200sqft house for 120k that needs a lot of work $200-400k from a contractor or $40-80k for materials if you DIY. Or a house for $750k?

Cheapest blue water sailboat?

I disagree with this take. There are plenty of boats that need cosmetic love but can serve as decent offshore rigs. I got C&C 36 for a good deal but it needed a ton of interior work/plumbing. I wouldn’t cross oceans in it but did just fine for the Bahamas
