That power level was only for the early cars in the first few years of production with the 3.0 liter. After 1978 they were 3.3 liter and power levels went up. They are also fairly restricted from the factory and easy to uncork with very few modifications. My own car made 380 to the tires and in a 2800 lb car it is entertaining.

Why not manage the sync option centrally through Group Policy or another tool? Turn it on once for everyone in the environment and stop thinking about it.

This should return all current BIOS settings from WMI. I don't have any Lenovo hardware that isn't a laptop so I don't have that setting to verify. gwmi -class Lenovo_BiosSetting -namespace root\wmi | ForEach-Object {if ($_.CurrentSetting -ne "") {Write-Host $_.CurrentSetting.replace(","," = ")}}

willtel76@reddit

You can hide the F12 boot options in Lenovo so they can't be seen unless you enter the BIOS password. I use PowerShell and WMI to change the settings but you should be able to do the same thing with Ubuntu since it is infinitely more powerful than shitty old Windows.

Cisco Umbrella Users - Any Recent Issues?

Posted by Hazy_Arc@reddit | sysadmin | View on Reddit | 8 comments

willtel76@reddit

Our issue is our traffic is supposed to be routed or proxied from only two of their datacenters and something changed on their side so we were hitting any one of their 16 datacenters. Stopping the csc_swgagent on endpoints worked around it for us until they can guarantee our routing again. *** I'm not on the network team that configured all this so I may have some details off.

You can't even order a Toyota with the options they do produce, there is no need to walk into a dealer and ask for anything because all they get is whatever the regional distributor sends to them.

The console is very limited in what you can do outside of clickops functions. Want to create a group of systems and change the Endpoint policy on those systems? Too bad. Their excuse is they have an API so you can just write your own Python code to do simple tasks. The client is also pretty heavy and the telemetry data they collect due to all that weight is pretty much useless.

Something to keep in mind that Teams updates do not come from WSUS and they don't take advantage of delivery optimization. They all pretty much come directly from Microsoft.

BMW's Design Lead Says the M5 Wagon Is Headed to the U.S.

Posted by digistil@reddit | cars | View on Reddit | 411 comments

willtel76@reddit

Part of that is BMW nerfs the wagon variants to the lowliest of models as well. By the time the F31 touring came out you had a single drive train option. 4 cylinder AWD automatic. If you really want to compare percentages you should only compare it to like 3 series models.

I don't have the will to keep up with the progress anymore. What do I do to regain it?

Microsoft bringing sudo to Windows

Posted by leetsheep@reddit | sysadmin | View on Reddit | 418 comments

willtel76@reddit

gsudo is excellent. I have three admin accounts (DA, server admin, and workstation admin) and I also have to run PowerShell in my normal user context often to test things. My current workflow keeps two tabs open in different user contexts with specific profiles for each so I always know where I am. Before gsudo Windows Terminal was just a neat party trick.

My manager once wanted me to call Microsoft for an issue with our AD CA delivering machine-based certs to MacOS devices. The issue was on the Mac side and not with the CA so I refused because it would have been a waste of time. He made another guy on the team do it and MS told him they don't support MacOS. What a surprise.

Posted by DianaVso@reddit | sysadmin | View on Reddit | 9 comments

I don't think $67k is great for and SCCM specialist but it is a solid jump from $45k. I know education salaries are typically lower. No harm in asking for $70k IMO.
