People who have home alarm systems how much do you pay for maintenance?

I have veisure, I pay £45 a month. Got the indoor sensor with camera for taking pictures when requested, and live video which is only active if the alarm goes off for down stairs and upstairs. Windows and doors with impact sensor. Smoke box thing that if the person at Veisure watching the camera believes it is a burglary they set off the smoke which covers the whole house and you can't see through it, therefore trapping anyone inside until security or police come. With all the stories I hear, I don't mind having this system and paying for it. Gives you a peace of mind when away at work or holiday or even sleeping at home. All maintenance are free like changing battery etc. My wife set off the alarm once and veisure called me and told me the alarm had gone off but the person don't look sus, so I told them yeah it's my wife. If you're away alot I think it's good thing to have. Edit: you could get doorbell, front and rear camera which you can watch live from too but will most likely cost more. My mums house has this. I use the ring doorbell and ring camera with floodlight for rear.

What’s a sensible gap? I try to leave 2 car lengths and the car in front somehow thinks I’m tailgating them and slow down to take the piss.

No discipline and respect. Like you, my mum beat the shit out of me if I ever done any of the shit kids do now. People talk about physical abuse. There’s a difference of getting a beating for misbehaving, so you fear getting a beating so you don’t misbehave and actually getting abuse. My mum beat me ALOT, and I love my mum the most.

what’s the worst name you’ve come across?

Buying a used car from a dealer - is there room to haggle and what are some things to haggle over other than price?

Do sales person even sell the car anymore. Last few months a few of my family members bought new (used) cars. They go to a dealership see what they like and they buy. The sales person does the paperwork. Take the payment. Sold. Try to haggle they’re like no to everything. But my family members like the car so they just buy it anyway. The sales guy didn’t even offer anything or say anything, he was just the chosen one to serve my family and made a sale.

Try quinoa? My wife love bread had to cut that out of her diet. And started making salads with abit of quinoa in it. What’s in your salad? She made a quinoa, cherry tomato, lettuce, cucumber, sweetcorn, edamame with Cajun prawns. Very refreshing for the weather this week. Also only 230 calories.

Maybe prices gone up. But I did a whole 3 bedroom house and garage, plaster, skirting, coving, painting, flooring, kitchen fitting, new toilet downstairs, install radiators and plug sockets. 10k labour, in London, 5 years ago. Is your price including materials?

It’s that time of year again. Should I buy a portable Air Conditioner?

I did few years ago and it’s so nice to sleep cool at night and not be sticky and hot during this weather. I haven’t notice much difference when paying for electricity either with it on. It’s only on during the night when we sleep. Our house downstairs is generally cool.

Can’t beat them. Not scared of no one. No respect or discipline. Back in Asia. If a kid misbehave in public any adult can beat them. Take them back to their house to their parents and shame them. No kid would misbehave after that. There’s a difference in beating your kids to discipline them and beating the shit out of them. This country doesn’t like that. Difference in your kids being scared of you and having fear of you. If they’re not scared of you, the parent. They ain’t scared of no one in public. Obviously not being scared of your parents all the time but they should know to be scared if they misbehave their parents will punish them. Respect and discipline all starts from home.

Some are good. Most are bad. I’ve been lucky and found some good ones, and became friends with one. Someone I could trust. He re did my whole bathroom while I went on a week holiday. Came back all done ready to use. Just got to find the right ones. Not all are bad.

How do you "enjoy" success when you're proud of your achievements, but not happy?

You’ve done amazing for your age and you should be mega proud and happy. Maybe it hasn’t kicked in yet cuz you worked your ass off all these years. Maybe now save up a bit and go on a holiday? Have a break to digest everything in, what you achieved, many people can’t. And you don’t need validation from anyone else. You’re still young, I’ll recommend to do some travelling.

Landlords could start by reducing rent. My rent went up £10k this year. Well the rent hasn’t gone up in 5 years. But still it’s abit much for a small business.

There’s a new line called the Elizabeth Line. Gets you to central London about 30-40mins. Cheaper than Heathrow express.
