What is the stupidest thing your parent regularly does?

My mate was telling me his neighbour's 5 year old kid stays up and watches Squid Games, I think on a tablet in his room. How common is that?

Hmm, is it though? My 4 year old said he had been watching it, I was so confused as we obviously monitor his screen time, he is 4, turns out some weird YouTube thing he watches imitates the games.

Even after using Linux for a decade I made this blunder. Here's how you can avoid it.

The absolute state of modern gaming, I've barely dabbled since mid PS4 due to lack of time, find myself playing ps2 classics anyways. No micro shit, no having to grind online games to become relevant and no complicated mechanics to relearn... Reject modernity, embrace tradition.

Have you ever got in trouble for piracy?

Caught by who? The authorities in Britain won't do a thing, they couldn't be less interested. You may receive a baseless threat from your ISP who have probably received a copy right notice from a private company, a nothing burger. VPN's are absolutely not a scam though.

Are schools these days swept by crazes? I remember (in the 60's) marbles, cat's cradle, conkers, clackers, french skipping and I've forgotten many more. What goes on today?

Do you think drinking alcohol should/will go the same route as smoking has?

I think we already are, almost daily I hear an advert on the radio reminding me of how alcohol causes cancer... My pint of stout isn't the same as drinking 3 bottles of cheap cider, I'd love to see the scientific breakdown, its propagandistic and served untruths.

Anyone that grows up in these households always ends up traumatised? That just isn't true in the slightest. Without breaking it down to specific drugs you can't say that. The low income working class family who's mother had been prescribed some sort of anti-depressant may treat their child a lot worse than a high functioning upper class heroin addict...they exist I assure you. Also, most cocaine users will use it rarely, say at a party or weekend binge only to experience that " party benefit" with absolutely no effect on their family. It Is silly to even suggest it, considering the majority of recreational drug users are high functioning individuals, Drugs aren't good. They damage your body. I am saying that you shouldn't refer to adults making educated decisions the way you have been. It isn't so black and white, overdoses are complex scenarios that have a multitude of factors such as financial income, home status, location etc.

Yes they are. The lowest of the low? Does a infrequent, casual or daily drug user equate to a rapist or a child sexual offender? About the most hyperbolic statement i've seen this year. There is a well meaning misinformation epedemic regarding drugs designed to keep young people such as yourself away from them. I am not about to offer a justification for my usage to someone potentially under 18 or condone them for the same reasons but I will say I am a highly functioning family man who had never used a substance to "cope" and have more trouble putting the Pringle can down than a substance. Your example of a vape has no real relevancy. Nicotine is so much more addictive than just about any drug I am aware of. Though I am not a weed smoker, it is a hell of a lot safer than a lot of shit the doctors give you. Don't ever make the mistake of thinking Dr meds = healthy.

I think we will see a massive increase in VPN usage but the majority won't. It's human nature to take the path of least resistance, people don't like complications or things they dont understand.

This. We see a major data breach nearly every week and this could massively contribute to an already growing blackmail scam culture. Also, being linked to what you watch sounds pretty dangerous. These sites are user generated and i remember alot got through that probably shouldn't of back in the day. You could end up watching something without realising and getting at knock the door. There is a fair amount of effort in locating an IP, a triage like priority system to see if its actually worth it etc. A drivers license makes it effortless. Before anyone jumps on i'm not defending the consumers of CP but anyone who clicks on a questionable link, even by accident. It could open some undeserving people up to trouble.
