Move away from shops and make them to things that the internet can't compete with, make them an experience more intetesting than some shopping. It's all very well saying tax the internet (way to drive up inflation), when people don't even have that much disposable income anyway.

They're really not taller, that's the thing. They don't make flag poles specifically for glasto, you know. They're the exact same ones people were taking to festivals before the sensible ones banned them.

I mean, that's definitely not true because you see people with them up and waving during the sets 😂 Also not at your eye level = at the eye level of someone else further away. It's no coincidence that most other festivals have banned them, and people who attend festivals who have banned them only say the ban was an improvement.

The size of the crowd has no bearing on the flags being a nuisance visually, whether its Glasto with 200k or Download with up to 120k. You get rid of the flags and there are plenty other ways to find people or make meeting places without feeling so important, you have to block everyone's view. Also, seeing the same handful of flags don't add personality. Leave them at the camps.

Yeah, seen about this after – admittedly, wasnt aware of their existence. However, it still doesn't really diminish my point on slurs not being appropriate in the workplace, or any of my other points.

Yes, so therefore they are offensive as they have meanings. They don't suddenly lose all meaning and gain it again when used by someone who is offensive. While context is a thing, slurs always have meaning because they have previously been given meaning by offensive people. That meaning doesn't go away, and the word now has power whether someone means to be offensive or not. Let's say this person was mercilessly bullied, discriminated against, etc, using that word. It has meaning, it has power. Someone using it in a presentation going it's only a word, stop being so offended doesn't remove the power.

The title alludes to it. However, people are so caught up in whether they can say something that they lose sight of whether they should. It costs nothing to not be a dick. Ironically, complaining about everyone being offended by everything because they're offended by people pushing back at their use of slurs and general hate speech.

Slurs should definitely not be used in a presentation, or a professional setting (ideally, not at all) but also one member of a group doesn't speak for the whole group and can't tell them what they can or can't be offended by. They don't know their history with these slurs.

No, it is a legal thing. It's illegal to smoke it in the UK due to the health issues. Could be wrong, but got curious about it and did a lot of reading it a while ago - with no intention of even doing it. It should be legalised though, even if just for the tax revenue it would create, and hopefully cut out some of the issues caused by the illicit supply chains.
