I have a remote job in Milton Keynes (office once a month). Salary 45k. Where should I stay in the whole of UK?

If you can live anywhere and want a better quality of life with more disposable income and more property for your money, further north rather than south would make sense I think. Norfolk wouldn't be a crazy distance from Milton Keynes, or even up to Yorkshire if you don't mind the longer distance but want beautiful countryside for a much more affordable price than the South of England. It depends where you are in the county, but somewhere near York to Milton Keynes is just over three hours' drive each way, so not too bad for once a month? 45K would be a very nice amount for Yorkshire, I think. Perhaps someone from up North could better advise on specific places, but that makes sense to me. Scotland also comes to mind for rugged beauty but I think that could be too far for driving to Milton Keynes, even if it's just once a month. Perhaps the Lake District is another option? It's also renowned for beautiful countryside, but that's more like four hours' drive from Milton Keynes. By the way, I'm assuming you can drive but if not then the advice could change a lot because trains could take significantly longer than driving from the countryside when you factor in getting to the station in your nearest city, etc.
