It annoys me how people dont understand this. They make pennies profit per item, it just adds up because they sell the same item millions of times, if they lowered prices 5p theyd end up in the red. It's the manufacturers that are the greedy bastards.

Which invention would put Amazon out of business?

Posted by PaddedValls@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 137 comments

TablePanic@reddit

AWS is the majority of Amazon's revenue. the .marketplace and prime arent very much of it. Amazons standards are slowly dropping, theres a lot of knock offs on their marketplace now, I cant see it lasting forever the way it's going, I think it's only still standing because it's easy to get a refund.

The trim is because it's an MDF table with a veneer, the trim is to make the edges look tidy, and as the edges are the most likely to wear, theyre covered with a more hard wearing material

Do you consider it socially acceptable to get your eyes tested at the opticians, just to get hold of the prescription and buy your glasses online?

Posted by SomethingBrews@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 367 comments

TablePanic@reddit

I tend to say i'll come back and choose glasses another day, then go back another day to get the prescription, it feels cheeky asking for it right after the test lol, like i need these fellas to get the prescription but i'm using them so I can spend my money elsewhere so they slowly go out of business :|

Posted by gintokireddit@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 52 comments

TablePanic@reddit

I can fill a slip in any time or email the surgery to get a prescription usually next day, so it isn't like this everywhere. I also tend to do it before I run out of meds, your bad organisation isnt your doctors issue.
