Is my cleaner too expensive or just right?

My going rate for a school is £14.50 an hour. For private houses £17.50 an hour. Anything less and I wouldn’t do it. I work hard for that! Give them a pay rise if they are good, I would be cleaning terrible if I was being paid so little!

What's the going rate for the tooth fairy?

During my childhood it ranged anywhere from 50p-£2 depending on what change my mum had lol. I work in a school and I’ve not heard of anyone giving £5 to a child for a single tooth. Maybe more if it was traumatic like teeth got knocked out and there was a hospital trip. Or had to have a tooth extracted. But for regular wobbly teeth I think no more than £2. They can use it to learn how to save!

Which Haven Holiday park would you recommend?

Rockley park is great for location with easy to catch buses to Poole and sandbanks and beach access. We owned a caravan there but it got too expensive with the site fees. If you are going to book go for a high end one. At Rockley you can park next to your caravan. The indoor pool is nice but you have to book weeks in advance. The outdoor pool is usually a one in one out basis on a busy day. New quay wales is a great location again walking distance down to a beach. Now I’ve never stayed there but used the toilets in the entertainment area and bought some supplies at the shop when I visited the beach. The park looked really clean, the pools looked great too. Can’t remember if they allow you to park next to caravans there. But I’m sure it would say on the website. And I assume booking the pools and activities is the same as Rockley.

How did the now banned practice of caning (Corporal Punishment) work in schools in the UK before 1986?

My autistic Nan, (turns 80 this year) was made to wear the Dunce cap regularly for being ‘stupid’. She just had autism and wasn’t able to pick things up as quickly as everyone else.

How would you prove you’re a time traveller if you landed back in your 2007 hometown with nothing but yourself?

I’d bring some sandbags and life jackets then they’d all know in a few weeks time as the 2007 summer floods are coming. I vividly remember being 7 and our ducks were swimming across the garden😂

What’s the weirdest thing that happened to you on holiday?

I was sat in a McDonald’s in New York. A man walked up and down the road carrying a pink bookcase. Then another man walked past this car before turning back and spitting on it. Then a man walked into the McDonald’s bought a drink. Then went up to a random woman who had finished her drink. And asked if he could have the straw. She said yes and he stuck it into his drink and left. He then came back again with a box of cereal bars and tried to sell them to me. This all happened in the space of 5 minutes. On the same trip I also watched a man high as fuck, light a piece of paper on fire and jump up and down in excitement at what he saw. And a woman gave her child a hair cut on the street right next to Central Park with the largest pair of scissors I’ve ever seen.

My brother is a Porter in a hospital and over covid we used to send him things to the hospital as we couldn’t go and see him. We just put his full name and occupation and it always got to him.

Should I asked my dentist to check if I have wisdom teeth?

I’m the same age and have just had one wisdom tooth begin to appear so it certainly possible. It’s also very painful I’m discovering. I also didn’t get any teeth until I was 2 so that could explain it😂

I was sent and email about my sisters college starter dates and it had all the other students emails that I could view. All these students were minors so it mad a major data protect breach. My sister was told that she didn’t have the grades to do the course. And they called me to discuss her other options. And I informed them about the email mishap and suddenly they were willing to let the grades slide and let her do the course she wanted.

New driver – possible very slight contact with car behind me on a hill, unsure what to do?

I’d say it’s their fault for being so close up your arse even if you did make contact with their car. anyone with half a brain knows cars roll back sometimes so leaving a decent gap is standard. And if it happened whilst you were driving they were definitely too close. What if you had to do an emergency stop. They would’ve hit into you.

An elderly lady was inspecting the broccoli. Then she reached into her handbag got a big kitchen knife, not sure how it fitted in there. And took the stalks off the broccoli before weighing it to buy! Never seen anything like it.

Do ‘no cold caller’ stickers actually work?

Normally they work but tonight the British legion decided to hammer on my door. Asking for money. Even with the sticker. Scared the shit out of me as a female on my own. So I’ve reported them. And didn’t give them any money.

I was 22months old so incredibly young, it’s my first memory. I remember my mum hearing something in the playground of the school that my old brother went to. I was walking and my new born brother was in the pushchair and my mum was trying to get home as quickly as possible. I remember her being worried because my dad was in Europe and was travelling by plane at the time. I never remember seeing the tv or what happened. But I remember my grandparents coming over and everyone crying. Turns out it was my grandmother’s birthday so I definitely got the date right. I remember my mum getting in touch with my dad on the phone and telling him not to go on any planes.

Is it normal to be ID’d for Calpol?

Ex Waitrose partner and yes they made us use challenge 25 for calpol. As it’s no different to paracetamol which we also do challenge 25. I always used common sense and if I thought you looked over 18 I wouldn’t have ID you for calpol but would have done for alcohol if you didn’t look 25. As technically anyone over 16 (used to be 12) can buy paracetamol. Whereas you need to be 18 for alcohol purchases. Funny enough I tried to buy calpol in the Waitrose I worked in before my shift. (For my younger brother who was poorly) And whilst I’m aware I look young for my age, I thought it was ridiculous when they asked for ID. As I worked on nights and had the nights uniform on. and everyone knows you have to be 18 to be on nights.😂 So I ended up having my manager come over who confirmed my age as I left my ID at home. It was rather embarrassing I must say.

What's the worst Christmas bonus you have received from work?

Couple years ago when Waitrose didn’t give a bonus. I worked a 19:30-23:45 shift at Waitrose, 4 days a week. So we didn’t get the nights Christmas breakfast or the days Christmas lunch. Instead we got the left over sprouts wrapped in clingfilm in the fridge. So we paired it with the one slice of bread you are allowed a day in the PDR. What a bonus that was…
