Been a runner since I was 13, im 34 now, do 6 mile a day to work and back. Lift weights when I get home. I don’t eat amazingly well though and it’s something I need to work on. But generally I’d say I’m pretty fit.

Do you regret having kids?

Got a 3 old and a 2 month old, of course it’s very difficult, but so are most of the rewarding things in life. Nothing makes me happier than seeing them happy, nothing.

Certainly not remotely rich, but not ‘struggling’ in any sense. It’s quite literally a case of, get a job that pays well. The wife’s an accounts assistant and I’m a paint sprayer. it’s not even classed as a decent job, it’s pretty working class tbh, but it pays something like and overtime and bonus work wonders. There’s no massive secret, just get a job that pays half decent. Got a house, in a nice area, 2 kids, newish decent car. Holiday now and again. None of it is rocket science. You don’t need to be on 100 grand a year to have a nice life.

This was going to be mine too. The way people treat dogs like kids is severely embarrassing. I promise you do not love your dog like a parent loves their child, stop saying you do. just no.

Not the same thing, but I did my bike test in 5 days. Admittedly I had a car license so you know way more stuff going into it. It all depends on how quickly she takes to it I suppose.

I run to work every day at half 5. my go to, with anyone whether a man or woman, is to just give them a wide birth, go into the road if possible or onto the grass verge if there is one. I hate the idea that I’d startle someone at half 5 in a morning.

Oh my days every bit of it. No work, sunny weather, went for a run every day, got back and just watched this morning every day and played guitar while the wife wfh upstairs. had a Chinese and a live quiz on Skype every Thursday with the family. Everyone felt in the same boat. No pressure to socialise, was fucking brilliant. Quite sad to say it was absolutely one of the best times of my life.

For context in a dad of 2 and have my own house, same age as you. I remember the first few months of smoking weed when I was 26 was like magic to me, made listening to music an actual event, made me think differently, more introspective, made drinking seem incredibly boring. Years later weed is pretty boring, lost its magic now I’m used to it even if I took a year off smoking it. Like someone said it’s like 3d cinema, great for a bit then just becomes a bit of a gimmick. You’re never fully out the game though, if someone offered me a spliff I don’t think I’d ever say no. Bit of laugh, same as drinking, never goes much deeper than that.

I started saving when I was 16 and didn’t stop saving till I was 26, my wife did the same. It costs a bomb, sounds impossible to save 40 grand or whatever for a deposit, but that’s why loads of folk don’t bother even trying. It’s a long slow grind.

Does anyone wonder what it would be to be in a car crash?

Posted by Gullible_Variety_0@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 71 comments

Sea_Corgi_7284@reddit

I was in one when I was 14, got T boned by a lady who didn’t stop at a junction. I didn’t see it coming and instantly after the crash had no idea what had just happened, like it was too fast for my brain to register this enormous event. I remember the shock and just complete bewilderment, and how serious it felt. The impact was huge, and the noise, but yet still didn’t realise I’d just been in an accident till 10 seconds later. It’s WAY more traumatic than you’d ever think until you’ve been in one.
