Switch washing machine on hottest wash with a towel or something in, DO NOT add anything at all no liquid or softener. This will clean the washing machine and you will see all the bubbles and residue flushing it out. You do not need to use a washing machine cleaner Always put a dry tea towel in the seal where the water sits after a wash and this to stop it going mouldy, never leave the door fully closed unless you’ve wiped the seal Persil have a dark blue odor defy wonder wash which is good, I use this for my pets blankets and smells very clean after

How to have dogs in a first floor flat?

Posted by Local_Penalty_6517@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 43 comments

Regular-mo@reddit

I had a small dog and a first floor flat for a few years. As long as the dog gets adequate time and company with owners and exercise they are content. Small dogs only need short walks but on weekends we would go on nicer and different walks and take the dog places in the car as that provides stimulation. Toilet regime was outside first thing and before bed and in between when they wanted too, she would go to the door. Neighbours were all fine and we respected them too not taking dog out late for toilet unless she was poorly

What do you think of the treatment of disabled people within the UK?

Posted by ReindeerKitchen872@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 180 comments

Regular-mo@reddit

To me that is exactly what the welfare state was originally created for, exactly those people who need income support because of genuine health issues, disabilities, parental/carer support. I do not view those people as lazy at all, it’s probably a tough gig and not how you anticipated life for you or your child. As a taxpayer like most I do feel cross when you think money goes too people who play the system or live off welfare state out of choice. I think with flexible working and from home it is a good thing to work as it keeps you mentally sane and gives you purpose/socialization, however that’s not an option for everyone. I don’t begrudge anyone who genuinely needs that’s support for how ever long they need it, that’s what it’s there for

The NHS won’t fund it. Get it done at a reputable skin clinic, bikini laser is around £80-100 every 6 weeks. Most people need 6-8 sessions and top up once a year say. If it bothers you that must just get it done, you will save on the cost of razors and discomfort

Should certain dog breeds require a license or process in order to own them due to the increase in dog attacks?

Posted by robster9090@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 39 comments

Regular-mo@reddit

They should clamp down on back door breeding and a real issue that often isn’t discussed is the huge increase in dog fighting and baiting. XL bully’s are used and trained for this! We see an awful lot of media cases and news about awful circumstances with dog attacks and death. A real a growing problem is these dogs have terrible owners, are being abused tortured and mistreated to fight and destroy other dogs which is incredibly cruel. That’s a reality. Licensing, change of animal law, and charges/fine should be imposed It isn’t just about dog breed specific, the media magnifies things but it’s not all the truth or evidence. There are a collection of problems and contributory factors that must be addressed

Get him a therapy dog visit if he likes animals or something. When you have limited sensory ability that is comforting. Or take him out in a recliner if he balance to sit in that, you would value things you can’t experience anymore! If he’s had stroke even like see if a sport/massage therapist could do a leg massage for soft tissue. It sounds crazy but If you can’t walk and circulation is poor, and you don’t get to enjoy the nice baths and things anymore, that’s sensory and can relieve discomfort and stiffness from the stroke. Again it’s sensory and provides comfort. Sure someone from a local gym could do that

Seriously unless it’s too embarassing to say at triage. Why don’t people just tell the receptionist their concerns/reason for request appt, people say it’s none of their business and not a medical professional but they still have a genuine awareness of how the practice functions. Receptionist don’t really care about the problems in the sense they see it everyday, it’s nothing new, it’s just another appt. so many people say ‘it’s personal’ 90% of the time it’s nothing personal/intimidate/embarassing it’s the same things people ring practice for daily

I left school with my highest GCSE as a F. Things at home were tough when I was at school. I left worked two jobs, after that re-did maths and English. Went to college, still with my two jobs and then university at age 21. I went back to university after my undergrad, then twice to do post graduate and another course. Now doing a masters degree. I have a excellent job and take home a good salary and live comfortably. I struggled but I did it and worked hard for it Try hard now it will save you in the long term, but don’t pressure yourself to get certain grades, you just need to do enough. Unless you need certain grades to get to the next level for something particular. Whatever you do it will work out for you, people who are resilient find their path and don’t compare with what others are doing. People perform and work better when they aren’t stressed, make sure you have fun between and have a normal routine just don’t be relentless with revising and stuff that’s when it’s unhealthy and you become unproductive

Turkey Teeth! People who went to turkey for cheap dental work, what did you get done? Was it worth it? Any regrets?

Posted by softserveicebeam@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 17 comments

Regular-mo@reddit

Don’t do it. Once you commit to that work you commit to a lifetime of expensive dental treatment. If you have mental fillings at the back leave them, if they are at the front and they bother you go see a private dentist for good quality white fillings. As for whitening I have whitening trays at home I paid £300 and when I top the whitening up the gel costs me £30 from dentist and last a year. I promise once you do that you won’t want turkey teeth and they don’t have the longevity of good dental care. After those veneers or if you have problems, your looking at crowns, root canels and it’s not as simple when you have veneers. It’s expensive they can get infected and all sorted Whitening makes your teeth look cleaner and nicer and have their own character, your teeth should be yours not everyone else. Get an electric toothbrush and take care of them

Explain out of respect and opportunity you are speaking to them first before going above the manager. I am sure they’ll be speechless and have little to say. Calling people out sometimes is the best way and it’s more uncomfortable for them and they deserve to know what discomfort really feels like to reflect how it has made others feel. They also would have no grounds for disciplinary or treating you unfairly. I don’t think they would bother you again after that
