Does being a doctor really make a lot of money?

24 y.o. Asian here, with Asian parents. I did the unspeakable and became a software engineer instead of a doctor. After 2 years of experience I’m making 49k.
Idk how much doctors are making but I’m reminded constantly by the Asian community that I’m not as successful as their children because I didn’t decide to become a doctor, dentist, pharmacist, etc.
So are these professions really earning so much that I’m basically peanuts compared to them?
