When you go on holiday, do you give a neighbour or family member a key to your house?

Posted by DryJackfruit6610@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 160 comments

No_Variety96@reddit

My neighbour had my spare key to feed my cat when I was away. I forgot to ask for the key back when I got back from my holiday. A week later I got home from work and found a parcel on my coffee table in the lounge. She had seen it on my doorstep and instead of taking it back to her house to give to me later she had let herself in and put it on the table. I somehow felt violated and asked for my key back straightaway.

Don't go to work if you are feeling that unwell. You will get better quicker if you stay home, keep warm and try and sleep. Plus you won't be be spreading your germs.

How often do you shower/have a bath?

I shower every morning before going to work and every evening before going to bed. Sometimes I'll have a bath in the evening instead if my body is ache. I sleep so much better if I'm clean.

You realise the whole world uses metric, apart from 3 countries? United States, Liberia, and Myanmar. So not sure why you chose Canada out of the other 192 countries using metric.

Wife is taking her driving test tomorrow, and she's a bag of nerves! Any advice please?

If she starts to mess up on a manoeuvre stop before she touches the kerb, for example, and ask to do it again. This worked for me and I passed. The examiners are human too and understand everyone is nervous. When I was told I had passed I said "you're joking, I was rubbish" he laughed and said but I was a safe driver.

What is stopping your mum leaving a light on during night? A hall light so anyone needing to use the toilet can see where they are going. Your mum sounds like she is trying to keep your sister a baby and is not letting her grow up. That is abuse. Your mum has the problem, not your sister.

What do you call the bag you take toiletries in on holiday? Please help settle an argument 😅

Would you still test for COVID?

Yes because I work in social care and have a certain responsibility towards the people I work with. We still have hundreds of test packs at work so it's easy to do a test.

Why do you hate that person in your work?

Because she comes into work late and goes home early every time the boss isn't in that day. When the boss is there she is on time. It annoys me as I am an "on time person".

My address is inaccessible to delivery drivers, what can I do?

Posted by Trypticon_Rising@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 27 comments

No_Variety96@reddit

Usually I get a notification on my phone to say what time the delivery is due and I can track exactly where the delivery driver is so I can go out and wait for the parcel. I make sure I have ID and proof of address on me. Most delivery companies also have drop off/collection points. My local shop takes in parcels I just collect later if i know I won't be home.
