When you go on holiday, do you give a neighbour or family member a key to your house?

We have a key to our neighbours house, to feed their cat when they are on holiday. I go in feed their cat, pet him and then leave. When we go on holiday for a couple weeks they have offered to take a key and check in on the house. But they mentioned having a 'snoop'. Now I'm not convinced I want to give them a key, because that feels intrusive. Or am I being weird? My dad has offered to check in instead, so i think I'll do that, just curious of others experiences
