Flew pipeline and haven’t ever been judged. Money was livable compared to CFI at the time and it was a shit ton of fun. But fairly sketchy.

Would anyone cfi as a full time job if it paid enough?

Fractional FO in the upgrade process after being here a year and a half. I love it so far. The frustrating things are completely overshadowed by the good for me anyway.

If you go 141 do it at a university. And there is no shame in taking a break. I had over 2k hrs and left aviation completely until I had the desire to go back.

Anyone that is skeptical of piston engines should look at what is pipeline pilots do every day. Piston engines aren’t unreliable when treated right.

Engine Failure Early in PPL Training, How to Proceed?

Posted by DanielBR401@reddit | flying | View on Reddit | 150 comments

Ya tons of good advice here. Don’t dwell on it. I had an engine failure low level and now I fly pipeline. Just draw on it as knowing how you’ll react in that situation now. I had a co worker ball one up but survived it and now she’s back flying line also. Unfortunately some things are just dumb luck. I’ve known pipe liners with thousands of hours and never a serious problem.
