My American grandchildren will “take out the trash” while in UK we “put out the bins”. So what, if any UK phrases would prefer to adopt and why?

I have noticed that you can be rude about anyone as long as you say “Bless” afterwards. “His lift doesn’t go all the way up to the top story, does it? Bless!”

I have left notes on the car. Not seen the culprit but it has happened in 4-5 occasions. I don’t have a vehicle but when guests visit there is nowhere for them to park and my delivery drivers can’t get in easily with groceries etc.

I had a mate in the Army nicknamed Kalahari, which is an African desert. He was six foot six tall. He was so named because both he and the desert appeared to be miles and miles of f@ck all.
