Was it actually a thing in Britain “back in the day” for people to have all their teeth removed and get dentures relatively young, even when they still had some healthy teeth or is that one of those exaggerated stories?

Because they're cheap to mass-import and you can sell that at a very good mark-up in the USA. There's people in America with literal warehouses full ready to be sold on.

What are these weird marks that appear in weird places?

Is this wheel rare?

K11ShtBox@reddit

I'd list it as an "Italvolanti Imola "Indy"", though it's probably better as a wall ornament/"investment". Good luck selling on eBay as I've heard that it's recently become a nightmare, I wouldn't use Facebook either unless you have a decent bit of patience. I'd buy it off you myself for like 150, but given it's not a well-known wheel brand and your specific wheel is a strange spec I doubt you'd sell it for any more to the general public. I'd say list it for 200 and see what happens. I saw you said it came in the back of an MX5, was it an NA or NB?

I would like to show you my built R6-swapped Smartcar. It does big wheelies.

That's either a very very rare variant of one of their wheels, a retrim, or it's a copy. I've never seen an italvolanti with that trimming, usually they're all leather or wood. I doubt it'd be worth more than 300 but if you can find any similar examples in cars it can tell you more about worth (always up to the buyers though haha). The italvolanti holy grail (money wise) is either the NISMO example or the more widely pined-after Admiral with red insert on the front plate. (About 1.5-3k depending on quality) VW, Porsche, Mercedes, Audi, Nissan all used Italvolanti wheels at some point, notably on the GTis, 911s, AMGs and NISMO cars. (As well as selling them as aftermarket options) The company history is difficult to find and information otherwise on the brand is usually just "I have this wheel....." Forum posts. As far as I can tell I'm one of the more informed people about the company and even I don't know jack shit. I currently have three in my possession, a Formel super a Corsa super and an Imola, and I struggle not to pick more up every time I visit eBay. 🤣

Ooooh I thought you were a Jay from the Inbetweeners type hahahaha I was expecting to fail first time on my practical, got to the test centre and the very lovely lady said, "well done, you've passed". The look of fear in her face when I immediately retorted "you're fucking joking" will forever be etched into my mind.

I got pulled over when I was 18 for crossing the centre line of a corner, being a young man and having been hanging out with mates I had also had a beer or two before getting in the car. Stop goes all fine and well and then they bring out the blowie machine, I was absolutely shitting it at that point thinking I'd be getting my license taken away, anyway I ended up blowing just under the limit to my happy suprise and seemingly their chagrin. The officer then went on to scold me saying "you know you shouldn't be drinking and driving" to which I very cheekily replied "but I'm not drinking and driving, I drank and THEN I drove". Needless to say they did not find that very amusing..
