Everyone's free to wear sunscreen- Baz Lurhmann. Every single time someone calls and says....Dave... I automatically think, is it 4pm on some idol Tuesday??? I never EVER congratulate my self too much, nor do I berate myself to much. I actively work on my relationship with my brother, and my parents!

Guy Martin just turned a 1930s Manchester semi into a zero energy property. Do you think this could ever become standard in the UK?

Stamp duties have stayed historically low. With no link to historic house price rise. So they've been gaining hand over fist for years. They will still be earning via the more expensive properties that are fewer and further between

So 5% on £250k you could spend your £12.5k on panels and a battery, with no additional stamp duty. Up to £400k you could get the full £20k rebate Anything between £400k and £925k you could get the first £20k rebated from your stamp duty bill. Anything over 925, doesn't apply? Easy, make me the green MP ;)

Said this before. Stamp duty rebate. Give upto a £20k stamp duty rebate thst can be spent on solar, battery, heat pump and traditional heat saving technologies. Every time a house it sold there will be the chance to increase the solar capacity f the UK and grow a decentralised network of battery storage throughout the UK.

At 51½ I moved to 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. My DB pension pays me a 50% wage and my 50% job now pays me the top up. So a great balance and slow ease into retirement. Maybe get to 55 then retire? Although my wife can't quite get to the same, so possibly 60 🤷‍♂️ 2on/2off since April has allowed my to go to the Caribbean, Cyprus, The Fjords and Menorca this year and I have Argentina and Brazil, Lisbon, Turkey, Trindad and Tobago planned with an eye on an Iceland cruise too. My son said your bored, im like no, im just doing things I want to do as opposed to things I have to do. Its a balance I would like to continue to strike for a few more years yet!

I hate DIY, detest it. However, during the building of my extension, which I played a rather large role in, I got to a point where I needed to paint the walls and the ceiling of a 7m x 4m single-story extension. I had a discussion with some friends/work colleagues about the best paint to use. They suggested I go for a better commercial paint and I took their advice, against my judgment and under pain of forking out 50% more to buy it. After 3 days of prep work, a sizing coat, my first undercoat and during my top coat, I stood looking at my work and said to myself.... This paint goes on REALLY well. You old bastard! That was it, there and then
