When you're shopping on a website you've never used before, what makes you trust it enough to actually buy?

A dash is normal yeah, OP used em dashes, they're longer. LLMs use them (incorrectly) all the time. There aren't supposed to be spaces before or after em dashes

What is the worst thing you’ve seen in A&E on a Saturday night?

My dad went A&E a few years ago, and as he was queueing to see the receptionist person, in front of him was a young lad (10 years old or so) with his mum. She took him there because he had a fucking splinter in his finger

It absolutely does make a difference depending on the car. Both my current car (Audi S5 B9) and previous car (BMW E92 335i) were mapped to use 98+ RON, which means it can run more aggressive timing and make more power

I knew they called dinner tea (which I thoroughly disagree with), but had no idea they called lunch dinner. That's actually pissed me off

How much is insurance after a stroke?

Posted by cagesound@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 12 comments

I got turned down by two insurers originally due to a motorbike crash (open fractures in arms, shattered wrists, torn knee ligaments/adductor tendons) and an assault (fractured skull + brain bleed). Scottish Widows accepted me though after months of back and forth with GP reports etc. Costs me about £60 a month

My landlord wants to charge £2,364 for Kitchen repair. Are we getting ripped off?

Posted by FeelingPotato2602@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 919 comments

Absolutely is a scam. They're trying to justify their £2.4k bill by itemising every single step of "remove doors, strip, paint, refit." Surprised they didn't add "Underwent an extended biological waste elimination process spanning approximately eight hours."
