Driven: How the 2026 Genesis GV80 Beats BMW and Benz, and Where It Falls Behind

The more exclusive because they sell less is pretty funny. I cannot imagine spending BMW/Benz levels of money for a Genesis. I thought the whole point of Kia/Hyundai/Genesis was the low price for lots of options?

My full sized SUV with the wife and 3 kids in it will smoke this car 0-100… That is pathetic for a supposedly fun sporty car. Not sure how anyone could see this car as a positive for Honda.

Read the thread though... the comment above asked "who are you trying to impress". Lexus makes great cars, but they are not a brand used to impress people. You have to look at the context of my comment...

I would say by most definitions. They lack brand prestige and many people care a lot about what logo is on their vehicles. I hear they are nice overall and come with lots of options, but wouldn’t buy one.

We suppliment our Kasya VSA with MSP Builder. MSP Builder does multiple platforms so maybe check them out. they utilize Ninite as part of their platform.

Recently left Mercedes for BMW after 2 in a row that constantly had issues. The BMW has been amazing so far. My X7 beats the Benz in almost every way besides the infotainment system… Idrive sucks compared to mbux.

Does anyone else feel like Windows 11 is major improvement?

Not at all… It runs stable, but overall all my users prefer Win 10. I will say the patching is way better though. Windows 10 feature updates were always a hassle.

Yep, that’s it. My last car was a 2020 GLS and MBUX was definitely better overall. I do like the air gestures with BMW when they work… it’s 50/50 at best with CarPlay.

iDrive 8 is not bad so far, but I preferred MBUX overall. My main complaint is how many separate apps exist for the car itself. They should have made less apps with more menus IMO.

Why are BMW and Mercedes pushing fake leather so hard?

Posted by k_dubious@reddit | cars | View on Reddit | 786 comments

Blazedout419@reddit

The fake leather sucks also. Just traded in my 2020 GLS that had mbtex (Mercedes fake leather) and had it cracking already on driver seat. Just got a 2024 X7 with fake leather… hope it’s better than the Benz crap.

Aruba instant on vs Omada? What is prefered?

Posted by xXKaas@reddit | sysadmin | View on Reddit | 34 comments

Blazedout419@reddit

Instant-On works really well and is suitable for business use. Omanda is fine for home use just like Unif etc... I really wish that HPE would create a firewall to pair with the switches and wireless though...

Anyone changing their 3 year replacement cycle to a 4 year?

Posted by Trickshot1322@reddit | sysadmin | View on Reddit | 230 comments

Blazedout419@reddit

We do A 5 year warranty on all servers and replace right before that expires. 3 years seems crazy fast… honestly a 5 year old decent spec server is probably solid for another 5 years.

POE Camera System

DW Spectrum/AXIS cameras and DW Spectrum for the NVR software. We roll our own hardware (Dell PowerEdge) and attach storage via iSCSI NAS. The software is free and you buy 1 times recording licenses. The mobile app works great (no ports need opened etc...). Largest system we have installed to date is 83 cameras and resource wise its nothing for a 13th gen Power Edge.
