Every Sunday. It's a nice time to get the whole family around the table and enjoy a meal together. The whole gang gets involved in making it too: Kids peel the root veg and mix rhe Yorkshire pudding batter, wife preps the greens, I sort the meat. Everything from scratch.

A mixture of desert camping and guesthouses. All the locals we met were friendly and happy for us to camp in the desert. The place was very safe except for some questionable driving by some locals.

Toyota Sequoia. Great experience. Secod time in Saudi, very overlander friendly. Loose rules on camping. Basically, as long as it isn't on someone's farm, you are allowed to camp. A lot of freedom.

Great spot. I crossed the Wahiba sands last year with a friend. We camped halfway and it was the darkest place I've ever been.

We're hading to Saudi over the Christmas break- down south to Abha. Did the northwest at Easter this year. So much history and not many people about. Jordan is also on my list but waiting for things to calm down.

It's just perfect for overlanding. Lots to see, locals are friendly, and it's not too expensive. Love that wild camping is allowed. Weather was perfect too, though we did have to do a couple of small water crossings of wadis that had water in them.

Not really. Some locals who were doing light off-roading and one couple from Switzerland but apart from that we were the only ones out camping. An awesome place with lots of history. Could easily spend a month there (and I've already visited the country about 10 times). Loads left to see still.

What is the most obscure country/territory you have been to?

Mussandam. It's an enclave of Oman surrounded by the UAE. Full of huge mountains that plunge into the sea like fjords. There's very little there apart from one town and so few small villages. Good for diving and dolphin watching. Mussadam has the same area as Bahrain in the Gulf or Oxfordshire and Berkshire in the UK.

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in the Dominican Republic. Went 15 years ago when it opened and it was immense. 14 nights wasn't long enough. Food was on point. Great service and facilities. Just brilliant.
