I bought a GSF last year for this exact reason. No it’s not the winner of its category but a RWD NA V8 is heavenly and I felt I could own it forever. I get FOMO about the cars I grew up with younger. Supras, FD RX7s, R34’s - all feel unobtainable which is sad. But there’s still plenty of great cars out there.

Bro what are you talking about? OP isn’t tracking their car. Did you read the post? Mods like these aren’t tasteful (indicated by the meme OP refers to and even their own admission of getting tired of it), it isn’t helpful nor does it impact performance in any way. OP is cosplaying with their car by adding a plug and play mod with no real thought or strategy behind it. And you’re talking about the benefits of tracking a louder car? Lol.

This is a crazy take. I’m not arguing on OP’s behalf here, but to say the LC doesn’t look expensive or turn heads is simply false. It’s a beautiful and unique car. It just loses the head to head against almost every comparable car at that price point. A LC turns more heads than an M3 but I’d rather drive the M3 any day.

GR is wide bodied, triple exhaust and the CTR gets a big ugly wing and triple exhaust. These are very similar aesthetic upgrades.

Fair points, but IMO also a fair trade for a reliable NA V8 compared to a 4 banger or a turbo v6. But to each their own on all of that. I had an SQ5 previously and considered the Golf R before pulling the trigger on the GSF.

My Jeep (‘05 LJ) was neither overpriced nor is it unreliable. The 4.0 straight six will run forever basically, and most maintenance that has come up was easy for me to DIY and I’m 100% new to working on cars. It isn’t my daily anymore (did that for 4 years, wasn’t bad) and I knew it wouldn’t be forever, but I love it and will never get rid of it.
