Anyone using Desktop MFA for Windows?

Posted by Due-Awareness9392@reddit | sysadmin | View on Reddit | 37 comments

Myself and one other person are supporting 350 end users right now. HR told us to expect approximately 100 more employees by the end of the year. My manager told me that we don't need to hire another person in our department. Is it just me or is that completely unreasonable?

Don’t over due it. Do what you can for your own sanity. It’s not worth your mental health. It sounds like your manager forgets what it was like and is out of touch with his staff.

I got tired of fake “available status” culture at work, so I built this

We had tall desk partitions and once as a joke wired an extra keyboard and mouse to the docking station of the other employee. Maybe someone’s playing a joke on this employee.

It’s in the cloud. Whoever needs to send a fax we add/change the email address associated with the fax account number. I can get more specific detail tomorrow when I arrive back at the office.

Yeah. It’s very simple completely cloud based. No bells and whistles. Just a ticketing and contact system. I’ve used several over the years and this is user friendly.

because the system remembers last two passwords and the purpose is to eradicate the current password. Hence you should change it twice. Give it a good 48 hours after changing it the first time.

You’re feeling this way because you never had a mentor nor was trained to take over in cases suck as these. Grab your balls and talk to your IT group if you have one. Don’t show any fear because it will be noticed. Make a list of everything that needed to be done before the death. Drain everything from her account every email and document. You’re going to need it. Good leaders make good choices and become great managers. Don’t try to do this on your own pick and choose and then delegate delegate and delegate. And document everything!

2 months into new job I found out our company have basically no email security

Keep your eyes and ears open and your mouth shut. Listen to everyone and then choose a mentor. Keep notes on everything except passwords. Use a password manager like keeper security. You’ll do fine.
