What's the strangest/coolest/ most 'out there' song you've ever heard at someone's funeral?

My dad always said he wanted Highway To Hell (ACDC), Another One Bites The Dust (Queen) and Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life (Monty Python's The Life of Brian). Unfortunately he died during the beginning of the pandemic, so we weren't able to have a funeral for him. I definitely know what songs I'm playing when I scatter his ashes though lmao

Is it weird to send my gp flowers and a thank you card?

My grandparents were good friends with our family GPs. They were on the Christmas card list and my grandma used to give them homemade jams. My grandparents also had a painting by our GP's wife that they were given as an anniversary gift. They always made sure our GPs (we had 2) knew how much they were appreciated ❤️

I now know the last words I will utter if I ever have a fatal accident. What would yours be?

My partner was driving and a huge van wasn't paying attention and almost drove straight into us (they were in the wrong lane on a roundabout). My only response to this massive vehicle coming right at my side of the car was 'oooookay then'

Why is the term ‘high school’ when referring to secondary school now so much more prevalent?

I exclusively used to say 'secondary school', and then I moved to the midlands for uni and all of my friends (from the midlands/North) say 'high school', so I guess I've picked it up from them

How many of you have little to no friends outside of your family?

I (25) have a group of close friends I made in university but we barely see each other. 4 of us live in the same city, but 1 is married and incredibly busy with work, two others also have a lot going on with work, and I live outside the city and work from home. Two other friends live in a city nearby but we only see them a few times a year because travel is expensive and we're all busy. The last friend lives halfway across the world and we see her maybe once a year. My fiancé lives away for work so I see him a couple of times a month. I'm not close to my family at all; we text every few months at most, maybe call twice a year. Most of the time, I go days without speaking to another person. It's just me and my cats in the house and we only have a work meeting once a month.

What's it like to move from a small town to a big city?

I moved from a village of 12,000 to a city in the midlands with about 350,000 people. I love it and would never go back. I live in a quieter area on the outskirts now, but I love being in a short distance of restaurants, museums, cinemas etc. There was literally nothing to do in my hometown whatsoever. Having said that, if you're looking to move to London, you have to take into consideration that the housing/rent prices there are far more expensive than the equivalent in other cities, and there are far more people. Having said that, there's loads to do in London and you generally wouldn't need a car to commute. You get used to the Tube eventually.

Will the vast majority of people currently aged 16-20 just not have families?

I'm 25 and of our friend group (age 23-29) 2 are engaged, 1 is married, 1 is in a long term relationship (3+ years), one has just started seriously dating someone, and one is single. I think those of us in committed relationships want to have kids between the ages of 28-33, give or take

My father went into hospital. I am listed as next of kin, but the hospital doesn’t want to talk to me when I call?

Yeah that's sort of the position I have too. For me it was IV morphine. I had a serious case of mono and couldn't eat/drink/swallow for a week. Part of me thinks my reaction to it might have been compounded by my fever (hovered around 40°C/104°C for about 6 days) Horrible experience, 0/10 would not recommend.

Who are some celebrities you have an irrational burning hatred for?

David Walliams, Will Ferrell, Martin Clunes and David Hasselhoff. I've always found Walliams incredibly smug and off-putting. Will Ferrell is, in my opinion, incredibly annoying and not funny in the slightest. I'm not sure what it is about Martin Clunes that I don't like. I think maybe I find him a bit smug too I have no idea why I have such an irrational dislike of David Hasselhoff. His existence just seems to make me really uncomfortable. Idk something about him seems really manufactured

I had morphine once in hospital. Never again. I didn't hallucinate but was incredibly disoriented and couldn't process the passage of time properly. But I was completely self aware of how disoriented I was. Ended up having a panic attack because it felt like I was going clinically insane.

I have this too. I can look at them, but the sight of even thought of touching them or someone touching mine... Absolutely not. Even reading this made me viscerally uncomfortable

The Wilko Painted Man: A man who sort of does a human statue type thing, but literally covers himself head to toe in Wilko-branded silver metallic spray paint (meant to be used on furniture etc, definitely not skin). I know someone who came across him on Tinder recently (they didn't match lol). Also there's a man who dresses entirely in early 1900s clothing (including bowler hat). I see him all the time around evening rush hour so I presume he must be going home from work. Not a clue if it's related to his job or just something he enjoys, but either way, good on him, I guess lol
