What's it like to move from a small town to a big city?

I've lived in a town of around 10,000 people pretty much my whole life, I'm thinking of moving to London for the much better job opportunities (I've had a couple of job offers), shopping, nightlife, food etc. I've never lived in such a big city before, I did live in a city (Nottingham I think) when I was younger but don't remember it. When I visit big cities I don't like the crowds much and can't figure out stuff like how to use the Tube haha, I'm usually glad to leave. I'm also not sure how you'd meet people in such a huge place either, everyone knows everyone here. But I can't stand it here, there's no nightclub or anywhere to get a drink after midnight, nothing but a couple of fast food restaurants and Chinese/Indian/kebab places. No decent shopping either. And everyone's so two faced, you can't fart without someone taking an interest lol. Anyone else done this? How was it? Should I go for it?
