What's your credit score?

Posted by Designer-Bid-3155@reddit | Xennials | View on Reddit | 61 comments

WideLight@reddit

Well it WAS 800, but then I had the genius idea of getting a second credit card and that absolutely TANKED my credit down to like 700. It'll get back up there but wholly unexpected that it would drop that much.

What was your relationship with food growing up?

Posted by dattaldo@reddit | Xennials | View on Reddit | 319 comments

WideLight@reddit

Oh yeah, for real. Like I thought I hated a lot of foods until later in life when I had 'good' versions of those foods. Having learned to cook has made a world of difference in my life. I don't think I will ever have kids, but if I did, they would know a whole different relationship to food than I did. None of this crispy charcoal called a 'burger' from the backyard grill.

I never needed glasses at all until I started falling asleep at my desk every day. I know that blue light filters are a source of contention in the skeptic community, and I get it, but after having them for a while it turned out that I also needed bifocals because damn if I can't see up close worth a shit. My prescription is very minimal but I wouldn't be caught dead without my glasses on now.

We had these for work when we were working all over the state. Really awkward to be in a public bathroom and someone beeps in an just starts talking to you.

I started using millennial sub because I assumed I was one. Then someone pointed out I was an Xer. So I used that sub. It feels like they are a little more advanced in years than me in there. I didnt know Xennial was a thing until just now. I guess I found my lane

I was born in 78 and most of my friends growing up were 5-10 years older than me, so I am Gen X at heart but got fucked the way that Millennials did in terms of the economy :/

How much are you putting away monthly to retire?

Posted by _blockchainlife@reddit | Xennials | View on Reddit | 740 comments

WideLight@reddit

Facts. I was SOOOOO lucky that my mother had enough money to give me to make a substantial down payment on a house. So lucky. Now all I think about is making sure the mortgage is paid every month. I have a state pension due to me later in life. That's my whole 'retirement' plan. Not that I'll ever get to retire. My mom retired at 55 or so.

Smash was peak Offspring. We used to cruise around listening to that whole album on repeat. That and House of Pain's Fine Malt Lyrics and Rage Against the Machine's self-titled album.

I gotta agree here. My family thinks I'm a spendthrift but I buy 160$ boots and they last me years even though I wear them every day. I buy quality shit so I don't have to buy it again and again.
