Who else is going to see T2 in theaters for the 35th (!) anniversary re-release??
Taking my 12 yr old nephew in about a week...I was too young to see it in theaters when it came out so I am FUCKING STOKED (and in 70mm no less!)

I didn't even know this was happening. Not sure if my nephew's old enough but if he is I'll actually spring for this one.

I was 10 and my parents let me see it for my birthday with my friends. I had nightmares 😭. It's still one of my favorite movies ever.

I need to see this!

Sheeit. I saw it at a MASSIVE theater in Denver when it came out. I might have to see it again just for the nostalgia.

Studios must be making a killing because I feel like they're suddenly re-releasing everything. We went to see BTTF in the theater because it's one of my favorite movies and I was too young to see it in the theater originally. It was an $80 day though for three tickets and some popcorn. Don't want to do that too much.

Fuck yeah! My dad & I saw this at the theater when it opened. That shit blew me away. We should go together again & bring 15 yr old nephew. Fuck Skynet! And when being a mom now gets tough, I ask myself "What would Sarah Conner do?" 😂😎

Terminator was always the better film, where the hell was that rerelease. :)

maybe better if you've got a thing for stop motion and bad 80's hairstyles 😂

Stopmotion T800 was terrifying and you know it.

Nah, I don’t buy that. Ground breaking yes. T2 was just a landmark film and far superior in every way.

I loved that it was a horror Sci-Fi movie and the T800 was a merciless killing machine throughout. The grimy cyberpunk LA backdrop with the darkwave soundtrack, plus that was booty chest Arnie too. Then you go to T2 which was a a very polished and awesome film but it didn't have the personality of the first. Plus the police station scene was like Anakin murdering the younglings, epic.

Oh shit I’m going to look into it. Saw back to the future a few years ago on bttf day it was great

I've watched the extended dvd version so much the theatrical version may be like a new film at this point. 💀

But did you watch the extended extended version hidden on that same dvd?

Only if Kirk Lazarus does the dvd commentary.

Which of the 2 to 4 incarnations of the film will they be showing?
View on Reddit #87132874

Chuckles_McNut@reddit (OP)

theatrical cut 137 mins
View on Reddit #87134270

Kinetic_Silverwolf@reddit

But that's the same version older folks already saw in theaters. Why even bother with a Director's Cut if we never see that on the big screen?
View on Reddit #87135591

Chuckles_McNut@reddit (OP)

Can't answer that but you've made me painfully aware I'm not even sure now that I've seen the directors cut... Will have to go back and check it out sometime after the screening
View on Reddit #87135727

T2 is one of my favorite movies and I wasn’t aware there was an extended cut.

The DC has the extra T1000 scene in johns room
View on Reddit #87145847

Kinetic_Silverwolf@reddit

It's easy. If you've seen Linda Hamilton gripping a fence around a playground as an nuclear explosion goes off in the city in the background and she gets reduced to a standing skeleton holding on to the fence, you've seen the intended ending.
View on Reddit #87135967

Chuckles_McNut@reddit (OP)

huh? This scene was in the original cut and was definitely not the ending, nor does it appear to be the ending of the special edition

I could a sworn.... Maybe they nuked my memory too.

I was in HS when it came out and I remember seeing it opening night. Watched it 3 times with 3 different groups that opening weekend.

I remember seeing this at the Drive-In with my extended family when I was a kid, it was the perfect summer evening, they had a grassy playground for the kids in the front, we just laid out a blanket in the grass and watched it from there, best memory.

Yup, going Saturday June 6 at Vista Theatre in L.A. Will be the second time I’m watching in a theatre I was lucky to see the premiere back in 1991 at rhe Cineramadome in Hollywood. Man, that was something else.

Man, it was so much better back then. The ArcLight is a stupid name and it's lost all its magic. Saw so many great films there. This one, included, though that was my third viewing. Saw it opening weekend, Friday midnight showing with my best friend down in El Toro, then Saturday with my uncle at a theatre in Mission Viejo, then I took my girl up to the Cinerama Dome on Sunday to see it in 70mm with the full Dolby Surround experience. Saw it two more times during its first run, then a couple more times when it hit the dollar theatres.

Definitely, I was 10 when it came out and saw it at my tiny towns theater all 3 nights it played. The theater owner was friend of my dads and let me in all the R movies back then.
