Anyone else jump on the MP3 player shift just a tad too early? ;-)

I had a MamboX MP3 CD player. Worked fantastic. You didn't jump on the trend too early if your device played all the music you wanted and displayed ID3 tags or file names.

I used to read encyclopedias front to back when I was a kid and watched an unhealthy amount of nature, science, and history docs. I absolutely destroyed everyone at this game. My only weak spot was sports. I still win a lot of trivia contests at bars.

My wife just got me these, because she is awesome. My Gen X card is in good standing.

These are super cool! Did they just come out? I bought some Beastie Boys figures back when they were raising money for Tibet. They were very expensive, like $500. They are in a box right now and I haven't looked at them in 20 years or so.

Did our parents work longer hours and harder than us?

Posted by Crafty-Ticket-9165@reddit | GenX | View on Reddit | 53 comments

UnitGhidorah@reddit

My Dad acts like he did. He worked more hours maybe, but we work harder for sure and get more done. I see so many of the older generations and back in the day when I'd be at my Dad's work, a bunch of people played grabass all day and had 2.5 hour lunches.

I wish this was still around. I liked the taste!

They were making Zima up until about 8ish years ago in the US. They were still making it in Japan 6 years ago. RIP If I was a billionaire, I'd bring it back.

oh nice! I thought of buying a nice collection before but then I thought, "Do I need more shit in the house?" (how I have to talk to myself to get me not to buy things, I still think they're super cool and want a mint se.t)

What, they have these at Staples?!

Rad, how old were you to know to put them in fancy card sleeves when they came out? All mine were in a box and handled by everyone that wanted to look at them.

I work with a good amount of Gen Z. No problems at all. If there's problems just like any people at a job, you can get rid of them. I will say this about them, they're all pretty bad with computers.

I don't play D&D anymore, not that I hate it or anything, but I play World of Darkness games. Which your parent definitely wouldn't have let you play if it was around back then.

Is anyone else suddenly cold all the time?

Posted by tommymadprophet@reddit | GenX | View on Reddit | 120 comments

Where I live now, it barely gets cold to me and people bundle up like crazy. I go out in a t-shirt and jeans and people have on winter coats. It's really weird the difference in heat tolerance based on what you grew up with.

I was alone a lot but my Mom was really there for me all the time when she wasn't working. I have zero complaints. But I love to be alone and go out to eat or to the movies myself. It's nice to have quiet and time to think about things.

I had these sheets. I really wish someone would buy the licensing and do a reprint of them in King size haha. I see these at cons sometimes and want to buy them but they're for Twin at most and I'm way too tall for them.

At the time, was the Super Bowl Shuffle cool, cheesy, or both?

UnitGhidorah@reddit

It was super cool to see. It was a little corny due to some obviously being out of their element, but it was something no one has ever done before in football. All those players you watched on TV in games, you got to see not playing football. You only ever saw McMahon, The Fridge, or Sweetness on talk shows until that. I won't lie, I had a VHS tape of it and a poster in my room. It was on the radio in Chicago, I wonder if it was played elsewhere?
