They have poor reliability because 50 percent of the engines are running poor cycles and the other 50 percent of engines are driven by idiots.

If legacy automakers are unable to compete with Chinese auto manufacturers who are being capped at 49k sales annually they deserve to go under.

Yet they enjoy western civilization they shit on. I'm third Gen but go off bud. Criticizing car companies =sitting on western civilization (lmao). Brother this is reddit you need to put the phone down and breathe.

Literally noone is forcing these companies to sell cars in China other than themselves. This Is like me blaming the car dealer for giving me a bad loan when I was the one who signed the papers and agreed to the terms. >tariffs on foreign cars Wow how evil not like any other country (absolutely none) does this how dare they! (chicken tax was imposed in the 60's btw) >But all countries have protectionist policies for their industries so they can keep jobs, yet somehow “America bad” when they also do it No it's pointing out the hypocrisy of how the government didn't care about industry jobs when American and other western companies shipped jobs to China and started making cars there for NA and other regions but when China has actual domestic companies which puts American and western companies at risk due to them not being competitive all of a sudden its about the jobs and security. >I’m sure if China wanted to setup manufacturing of their cars in the US and provide jobs here they could sell their cars. But they don’t want to do that because their competitive advantage is selling products made by their laborers they paid a nickel an hour. 1.as per my last comment CATL (Chinese company) tried to open a plant in Virginia and was denied by the government. 2.BYD was making a plant in Mexico which has stalled due to tariffs and trade policy from the US 3.Chinese cost of labour has been growing and is higher than Mexico's so if China is able to sell cheap competitive cars despite paying more for labour vs the big 3 in Mexico wtf are the big 3 doing other then selling overpriced vehicles. Hell maybe we should keep the tariffs on Mexico to protect jobs and dissuade companies from using slave labour right? "Mexico’s labor market offers manufacturers a considerable cost advantage. The average hourly manufacturing wage in Mexico is approximately $4.90, significantly lower than China’s average hourly wage of around $6.50, representing a savings of roughly 25% per worker." https://napsintl.com/mexico-manufacturing-news/the-cost-advantage-in-2025-why-manufacturing-in-mexico-beats-china/

They already are allowed, they were never forced to make a shared company and hand over IP (most of which is useless considering that these companies never really made EVs) but volunteered to because western companies wanted to make more money. CATL was gonna make a plant in Virginia before that got canned by the government because "China bad" now its in Michigan and has a Ford logo on with Ford eating most of the cost of making the plant. It's funny how my comment is "America bad" for pointing out how it was considered fine when western companies were making cars in China and exporting them here but when China does the same its considered bad.

The amount of hate here is crazy. If Chinese cars are so bad why aren't they sold in Na and allowed to compete in the free market? Ford GM and tesla were making cars in China and exporting them here and noone cared but all of a sudden China has decent affordable cars and now China is bad.

The 4.6 was the only good one (mostly because of how reliable they were) both the 5.4 and 4.6 barely put out any power especially compared to to GM's v8s at the time.
