Alright well. I used to tell people at work these facts but then some girl asked me if I was autistic so...fair warning. There are 5.5 million nesting pairs of wood pidgeons in the UK. Housecats and other members of the Felidae family (such as cheetahs who have multiple fathers in 40% of pregnancies) can have multiple fathers in one pregnancy. Cheetahs are also one of only a few big cats that purr and meow and they are the fastest and adorable and I just love them. The bar-tailed godwit travels up to upwards of 8,400 miles in one trip when migrating. Bees and wasps see a colour that we don't see called "bee purple". If you painted a flower a bee or wasp probably wouldn't respond to it as it would probably be missing the colour that we can't see. Sperms whales are called sperms whales because they have an organ in their head which contains a white waxy substance sailors thought looked like cum lol.

I'm actually English I just grew up in America hence the phrase "on his own dime". If that's why you are saying maybe it's different in America? If not, I don't understand.

I have never had a boss do anything on his own dime for employees. OP you might see him as strict in the workplace but maybe that's because it's his job to drive standards. It seems like he genuinely cares about his team if he's going to this kind of effort. You might even find that if you go it loosens things up between you both and you see a different, softer side of him at work or have an in-joke or something to talk about, shared interests, whatever.

"Vast amount of safe green space" is definitely not true in England. I used to live in upstate New York and was shocked at how little undeveloped land there is in this country compared to there.
