This also reminds me of that Presidents of America songs Peaches....I feel like no one remembers but me. I shall teach my 11 year old of both songs so that he will master music trivia in the future. Also I shall try to get these on vinyl....if it exists.

I dont remember any carseats...But I do remember sitting in the back of a Nissan or Datsun truck...probably 2 door. Anyways, I remember sitting in these thin fold down "jump seats". Sorry, my memory is fuzzy, but that's about the earliest memory I have lol

1. To dial a number using a rotary phone (physically if I had one there or just ask them what it is and how they'd do it). 2. Ask them what *67 or *69 means. 3. Ask them to finish the line "Be Kind...____" 4. Ask them what the dewey decimal system is. 5. Have them properly fill out the front of an envelope (see if they know how/where to put the to and return address). Sorry couldnt pick just one. I use to teach GED classes so I had students anywhere from 16-70 years old. It was very challenging to teach all the different generations so I had a ton of answers for this question.

Yeah, same. I didn't appreciate a lot of music when I was younger. I liked music a lot. I'm one of those who like all genres of music. But, I mean we do that with everything. It's something we hear on the radio; we're just living our young lives at the time. Once we're older, 20 years pass by and we are full of nostalgia. For example, I liked Alice in Chains in the height of their popularity, but 20 years later, I really like to just hear it and pretend like it's the 90s. Lol. Same for Smashing Pumpkins and their sound that was kind of new - grunge mixed with a classical operatic background. I could go on about different genres too, but I'll stop.

Exactly! Seeing these "influencers" who were in their mid twenties prior to Covid and going viral....now posting about how they are in their 30s/turning 30...it's so crazy. They are posting these funny skits about being old...what happens after you turn 30, what music was cool when they were a kid, etc.... 🙄 Here I am thinking about how I was in the club at that time. 🤣 But, what's considered "old" is relevant to the person saying it...right? That's what I tell myself anyways.

Yeah, I knew that posthumously releasing anyone's personal items (without their future consent via a will or something similar) like a diary, journal, etc is a touchy subject....especially in the case of a very famous person with such an infamous death. I'm assuming it was mostly random thoughts and ideas. Are there any dates on the "entries"? Like did he write these thing before or after his daughter was born?

Yes, he sure was. Was he in a state of mind at that time to make that decision anyway? Also, assuming he had gotten clean, would he want his (assuming) drug-altered thoughts to be read all these years later? I think if he had lived, he would've thrown it into the garbage. He didn't like being famous and people listening to his music. I always find that odd. Then, why try to get a record deal? 🤔

1. O'Boises Potato Snack Chips...regular flavor. Keebler had one too but not as good. I see Friday's has some, but they are all flavored (Cheddar -n- Bacon, Sour Cream n Onion). But nothing beats the original/regular flavor O'Boises chips. 2. Not that I want it, but thinking about it makes me nostalgic and feel old....Zimas. It was a "special" taste. 3. Viennetta Ice Cream Bar Cake...to be fair, I never had it because it was rich people stuff. I've heard that it wasnt THAT expensive, but when you had a lot of kids, you could spend the same or a bit more and get a giant bucket of ice cream. I'm bummed I never tried it.

Higher than recommended LDL cholesterol

Posted by Mantzy81@reddit | Xennials | View on Reddit | 176 comments

Sometimespropermom@reddit

Unpopular Opinion: Well, let me first off, start with a question. How many times have you tested with a high LDL? If it's the first time 1. Get retested in 1 week. Then 3 more times. So, 1 month's worth of readings. Sometimes these tests can vary. I tested with a bit high LDL once (I'm average weight, 44 years old). I went back in 2 weeks, I had changed nothing, and it was normal. Retested 2 more times. It stayed normal The other thing. My doctor told me that if I did continue on with high readings, to try lifestyle changes first. IMHO (and my doctor's) a lifestyle/diet change before meds....if possible. You did say you've lost weight, but you have a high LDL. I'd recommend retesting after a diet change. I'm not saying eat less (obviously you've done that), but look at what you're eating that could give you a high LDL reading or perhaps, add some activity to your day. Doctors are so quick to write an RX. Unless, something is acutely life threatening, painful or cannot be changed via diet or lifestyle, I'd look into a change. But good on you for the progress you've made so far! That's wonderful 👍 And if you want to take a cholesterol lowering med, that's your choice too 👍

Same as the other commenter. I am surprised (because 80 is a number that makes your head turn) and not surprised because he seemed back then...as the old guy on MTV news. Jokes on me, he was approximately my age when Loder announced Cobain's death on MTV News. Whether you're a Nirvana fan or not...feel free to watch the clip.....that intro the MTV News I'll never forget. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=S8NjQ13T9io&pp=0gcJCfwAo7VqN5tD

I dont know what it was about the 80s and early 90s but there was an epidemic of models dating rock stars. I feel you dont see it that much anymore. Back then you had Stephanie Seymour who dated Axl Rose who met each other on the music video set. Also, model Paulina Poriskiva who met Rick Ocasek on the set of The Cars music video for Drive. I think I could go on and on. That's what I do, remember useless information. Lol

Yes, I understand that there were '80s video girls that continued to bigger and better things. But, I laughed at your reply (not in a disrespectful way ✌️), but imo, Tawny and Courtney are a bit different in how their careers turned out. I think it's safe to say, Tawny had struggles and demons after her fame diminished. Now, Courtney, well, I think we all know how successful she's been. Also. one thing I forgot to note. The 80s and 90s video girls often stayed in those circles (whether it be rock n roll or rap). From what I've read, Courtney, was a working actress, yet chose to not stay in those circles and kept pursuing an acting career. I do think Courtney (when talking about the opinion that video girls stay in the realm) was the exception and not the rule. Also, in the 80s and 90s was full of models who met their future rock n roll husbands on music videos. That's is a whole other discussion though.

The music...and now, stopping mid-song when my kids are in the vehicle with me, and telling them how old I was when it came out and how big of a deal it was. Also, when they start singing a song they heard in the background of a YouTube short and letting them know how cool I am because I've beeeeen knowing that song! Then...them saying wow, so cool. They dont roll their eyes, because...well...they know better...but it cuts me down to the white meat that they arent emphatic that I know the song. Lol

Yes! We lived right beside a swimming pond...in fact, dad still lives there in my childhood home. Although a pool, I definitely thought of...even today, as a rich thing, that's one thing I didn't miss because we had the swimming pond.

No! I didn't go to Disney until I was in my 40s. We use to, every few years, go to Busch Gardens or Myrtle Beach. I had never flown commercially which is odd as my husband is a pilot (not commercial), but I have been in a small 2 seater. I have never been outside the country. We can afford it now but I am so tight with my money. My goal is to let go a little bit so my children can do that. We grew up poor. I know there are gonna be people saying they didnt grow up wealthy but went to Disney. I mean, yeah, if you lived close and/or had some kind of discount. That's different so I understand. 👍

This is great! Thanks for this outlook! Great description of what I was thinking. Yes, throughout history, obviously financial statistical changes how we live, haved lived and how we view our past. And, I understand there are tons of other things that affect our everyday life: race, gender, location, etc. I just think it's interesting that in our era (xennials) lived during such a pivotal time in tech, there are some big differences that money made on how one xennial lived vs another. Great take. All these responses are awesome!

Yes, I do, but I wasn't trying to turn it into a dissertation, though. Yes, I could've thrown in all the other classes, but who wants to read all that? Plus, like you mentioned, spoiled,...that could be another subset. Then you have crappy parents and that could fall under rich or poor. Also, you have everyone's opinion of what rich or poor is. Then you have what's rich in a big metro area may be different than what's rich in a rural area that has a high unemployment rate. See how boring all of this is? I just wanted to get people's opinion on how your parents' income or financial status (when you were a kid) may have differed from people that grew up on an opposite side of the financial spectrum. Also. I can assume that with my subject, people would know that there are other socioeconomic classes. I'd like to think most people aren't dumb. This is for fun. It's not a research paper. Dang.

This is a good post... FOR ME TO POOP ON!
