Higher than recommended LDL cholesterol

I'm only 43. Feels too young to start taking statins, even if a low dose. Or is this pretty common here at our age? Feels like something older people need and I'm still young (I think) and reasonably healthy. 86kg, 175cm - down from 104kg 2 years ago so still "moderately overweight" but heading the right direction at least. LDL at 5.0 and HDL at 1.1
