We need to get ill every now and then to keep our immunity up. Don’t be afraid of it! Covid reducing the common seasonal illnesses due to reduced mixing meant that post covid there was a wave of more severe illnesses, interestingly.

I had to cut off my abusive in debt parent at 19 and was technically homeless for a bit, so didn’t have that option unfortunately :( This is where the conservatives fell down. They cannot comprehend the idea of not having a family and friends safety net. They think young people on benefits are weirdos because the rich people can’t comprehend parental help not being an option

I am so very bitter, yes. Housing should not be an investment and yet it is, which means only those with capital can control it. How do you accumulate capital? Time and earning. What’s the best way to have lots of time? Hand it down through generations

I would write them a polite, unemotional and no-nonsense worded email / text explaining that you took out services with x named company (feel free to attach a link to the page you found them on where you could write a review) and y named tradespeople on x date at y times to z times. Find the contact details of the owner of the company through companies house etc. You were not given the service quoted and were overcharged for the service provided (mentioning false advertising and dishonest practices, pressured selling etc etc.), provide a list of issues with evidence (pictures, clips of timings from doorbell camera for arrival and departure times, events and conversations as per your post) and mention that you expect an itemised invoice for the work done and believe a partial refund to resolve directly would be appropriate. And then say you look forward to a response within 14 days or you will reach out to trading standards and your bank and potentially if needed small claims but that you hope it is possible to resolve directly. Explain all this to ChatGPT or your other favourite language model and it can help you word the email/texts while taking any emotion out. This is what i did with a scam locksmith and it worked. Try not to let them get you to agree to anything verbally over the phone that isn’t what you want and that you can’t trust. If they don’t respond follow through, with the evidence that you tried to resolve directly as backup.

Bully breeds have members who kill people in every country they live in. It’s not a conspiracy, the danger is real. You’re probably seeing people show more caution if there’s been a recent anti-bully breed news story https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/topics/c9q9301541xt

And what does independence look like? What does a day look like when you have a whole home to yourself. What can you do with your own place. What freedoms will you gain? What will you do that you couldn’t do before? If you think about what life will be like once you’ve moved out and you find it doesn’t sound like a nice time, that could be your answer.

You’re currently very comfortable, and moving out is literally outside of your comfort zone. You need to find your motivation and reasons for doing this and really keep those in mind. Why do you want to move out?

That’s not…that’s not the problem. There’s not enough spaces in school A for all the people in the catchment so they have to go to school B who have spare slots since less kids live in the catchment for that school than there are spaces. There’s not kids from the area with spare slots (B) going to school A to swap with!

How do you make a "real" cup of STRONG British tea? Step by step answers appreciated...

Posted by Weird-Quantity-1824@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 21 comments

Significant-Gene9639@reddit

To optimise flavour in the most detailed ridiculous ways… 1. Ensure your kettle has as little limescale as possible (you can clean limescale out with an acid such as vinegar or lemon juice, soak diluted a bit with water for a while and boil occasionally, do a bit of scrubbing. obviously rinse it thoroughly and boil with fresh water a few times until it doesn’t smell of your acid anymore) 2. Use water from a water filter so you can be sure there’s minimal things to affect the flavour of the final product 3. Use fresh teabags. You want either an airtight container or individually wrapped bags or like a brand new box. The older the bag the more it’s been exposed to oxygen which impairs the flavour 4. Use decent quality English breakfast tea. Dry teabag into dry mug. 5. Pour boiling water onto the teabag in the mug immediately after boiling before it starts to cool 6. Let the teabag brew for 5 mins (this is really important) 7. Remove teabag WITHOUT SQUEEZING - squeezing out the water trapped in the teabag will give you a bitter taste 8. Don’t use some weird milk like skimmed or almond or whatever to start with. Semi skimmed is the best bet for a standard cup. Add enough for a sort of pale clay brown colour. I’d say about 10-20% of the mug of tea should be milk. This depends on your preference. Milk is a bit of a sweetener but too much makes your tea taste like milky water. Don’t top up the cup with cold water it will dilute the flavour, just wait patiently for it to be drinkable! 9. Don’t use weird sweeteners, start out with no sweetener to try it, then try with normal generic white sugar 1 or 2 spoons. Then you can mess around once you’ve tried a ‘normal’ cup
