Is social media giving the UK a false reputation?

It's not just that "billionaires benefit so it's bad", it's that it actively hurts the working class in favour of billionaires. I can't touch in your other talking points because frankly they aren't relevant in this conversation.

Unfortunately, that is a fabrication that the left have created. The modern left is pro migration. Ask yourself - who stands to benefit from lower wages and increased worker competition? The answer is people who are already wealthy AKA billionaires. The billionaires have done an excellent job convincing everyone that the left is actually against the billionaires, but the reality is that the entire mainstream spectrum is owned by them.

Yes! To build a narrative that things are bad so that left-wing grifters get elected and make billionaires even more money, All sides of the mainstream political spectrum are owned by the billionaires, don't be so biased.

Why do we even have architects when 90% of new builds are just a 10% variation of this?

>There is also a lot more to the story, which makes it clear that the implications of the bill as passed would mean farms being swallowed up by major industrial agricultural companies. Which would be terrible for all of us who don’t have farms or posts on the board of major industrial players. I'm gonna need a source on that, and another one explaining why that's a bad thing for consumers. Big companies tend to be more cost efficient than little ones thanks to integration and supply chains etc

>Think about a family business - the parents and children all directors, and they have some capital assets tied up in the business. Then the parents die. Do the children pay inheritance tax on their parents' part of the business? No. A quick Google search suggests that they do, except for small businesses that qualify for business relief >Farming is a unique type of business, where farms are passed down through generations. They may be asset-rich, they may drive a nice car and live in a big house, but the majority of them work bloody hard. Why should the family farm/'business' be ripped apart because they didn't structure it as a limited company? Asset rich my ass nobody cares how wealthy they actually are, that's just a ridiculous appeal to sympathy >Perhaps they should do just that - in which case GIVE THEM TIME TO RESTRUCTURE. Ok, let's give them a delay then, not no IHT >This government is so desperate to harm people that it isn't thinking straight. The benefits of removing IHT relief for farmers outweigh the cons. It only existed in the first place so that the wealthy could have an easy tax loophole, and to buy voting points because people are ideologically in love with farmers.

New social policy: if you watch videos or take calls on speakerphone in public, your devices are confiscated and destroyed.

If you’re driving and catch someone doing something illegal, you should be able to submit your dashcam footage and receive a percentage of the ticket when they pay.

Repeating my argument backwards doesn't make it apply the other way around, that's not how logic works. The actual concept is to enforce laws. The possible implications is that the laws would then somehow become tyrannical.

How does UK keep groceries tax at 0%?

Posted by WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHW@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 722 comments

RemarkableFormal4635@reddit

Wow, I did not know that grocery taxes were even a thing. Is that on top of VAT? A grocery tax here would be a political nuclear bomb for whoever added it. "X PARTY HATES EVERYONE WHO NEEDS TO EAT FOOD"

£1 per hour of electricity, is that normal?

Posted by GetMrBeaned@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 575 comments

RemarkableFormal4635@reddit

Firstly you need to understand how electricity is billed There is a fixed rate per day + a charge for each KWH used. Work out your rates known as tariffs, and you can work out what's happening. Probably best to switch providers to get better tariffs

How much do you think our school system is to blame for much of the anti social behaviour we see from British kids?

Posted by aquafrizzantesv@reddit | AskABrit | View on Reddit | 487 comments

RemarkableFormal4635@reddit

I think it's too lenient. There's no real consequences. Getting expelled just means switching to a new school where they can also behave like shit. It's tragic that just a couple troublemakers can really wreck things for everyone else

If conscription was reintroduced, do you think it would be male only?

Posted by PuzzledAd4865@reddit | AskABrit | View on Reddit | 236 comments

RemarkableFormal4635@reddit

Maybe not exclusively but it would be predominantly male. A: you can't just conscript the whole population or the country will shut down, B: call me a misogynist but on average/generally men will be more aggressive and stronger for fighting purposes.

Is Reform UK really as popular as polls show it now?

Posted by Storsjoodjuret@reddit | AskABrit | View on Reddit | 592 comments

RemarkableFormal4635@reddit

Not sure. Labour is doing well at the moment. 0.7% gdp growth in 3 months, halved immigration, more NHS appointments. If they keep this up, hopefully by next year people will start to realise that reform UK is not the way.

Did you know that 20 years ago in 2005 the UK had a larger economy than China?
