Yeah, if that leak is real, the WS-19 engine might be the most advanced low bypass turbofan in the world. Insane specs. The J-35 fighter would be a flying acrobat in the air if those leaked specs are real. They are likely real. China is also developing a 2,400 K "Turbine inlet temperature" turbofan engine with a thrust of 198KN. This would probably be a further iteration of the WS-15 engine. This development was shown in a PPT slide.

Nope India has over 1.4 billion people. China has over 1.4 billion people. When you have that amount/number of people, the type or nature of your government doesn't matter. There will be corruption. Whichever you want to slice it, india is a democracy and China is an Authocracy. Yet India is far more corrupt than China , which makes corruption in China look like child,s play. The idea that the Authocracy means more corruption and Democracy means less corruption is fantasy. China is an Authocracy, not a dictatorship where one man and his family makes all the difference ala North Korea or Saudi Arabia. There is a big difference between an Authocracy and a Dictatorship. Heck, you can say that every country has varying degrees of Authocracy to maintain law and order.

I never said China or the USA is #1 in everything. I said China could be ahead in low bypass turbofan engines but behind in high bypass turbofan engines and turboprop engines. Although they are making progress in both. I usually edit because of either a typo or missed information, but thanks for the suggestion. The tone of the other guy may have been aggressive, and that may be the reason for the downvotes, but he is right that the WS 15 and WS 19 are exceptional engines. This is even more pronounced with the WS 19 engine. That engine is exceptional. It is not the thrust that makes it exceptional, but it,s crazy compact size and the thrust that it currently produces at that compact size and it,s turbine inlet temperature at that compact size that makes it exceptional. Both engines are compact for the thrust that they produce with a surprisingly high thrust for their size. Whatever Chinese engineers are doing must be cutting edge.

The WS 19 is a medium-sized engine with stats creeping towards heavy fighter jet engine thrust stats of 120kN. It is at 110KN. It also has turbine inlet temperatures that approach the lower limit of engines that power heavy fighter jets, and this is in a medium-sized engine. The previous commenter who is being heavily downloaded is correct. Both the WS 19 and WS 15 engines produce thrust that are mind-boggling for their size (length and weight) China is even aiming to increase the thrust of the WS 15 engime to 197KN without increasing the bypass, ratio, and size of the WS 15 engine and this is with the WS 15 engine already beimg compact amd relatively lightweight for the thrust that it currently produces. If you read Chinese language forums, you will know all this. The previous commenter is absolutely right.

I think China will eventually move away from ARM to loongarch since loongarch already supports Huawei,s HarmonyOS microkernel. But they won't move away completely until they have their own EUV litography machine, which they are working on. Besides, there is no hurry to move away from ARM right now, as ARM is British tech, not American tech. However, I think they will still move away from ARM in the long term. This is why loongarch exists.

It will accomplish what the Chinese government wants. They want their tech companies to move to Huawei's CANN software stack, and the government is forcing the move. Deepseek, Moore's threads, Tencent, etc., have already moved. Those huge overseas data centers don't mean much when China is the only country with excess electricity to soak up the energy those data centers guzzle without skyrocketing the price of electricity for the average Joe, which is not surprising, as China is building a massive overcapacity in green energy. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ3vsHTJf1M](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ3vsHTJf1M) [https://fortune.com/2025/08/14/data-centers-china-grid-us-infrastructure/](https://fortune.com/2025/08/14/data-centers-china-grid-us-infrastructure/) China is building its own tech stack from end to end. Hardware, Software, the whole shebang. Software. I don't disregard other nations' s 6th generation projects It,s the other way around. Foreigners, especially Americans on the internet, tend to downplay or disregard China,s projects. I never disregarded any nation,s 6th generation project in my comment, including China,s, or America,s. China remains patient despite what Taiwan says as china hasn't attacked yet. Also, if the KMT keeps the DPP in check and prevents them from doing something stupid, China will likely never attack Taiwan. You don't want to see a war, but " WE WILL FIND OUT HOW COMPETITIVE THEY REALLY ARE." This is the spirit. No need to disregard their 6th generation project like some do.

They might in the near future?.True. They will do so in the future. This is inevitable. I don't know about the near future and what timeline that is, but China will field advanced tech in the military field in the future. This is inevitable. They have all the ingredients. When it comes to experience in using the tech, the near future timeline is further down the road. I agree. Operational knowledge informs design, but R&D spending can speed run theoretical knowledge. Theoretical knowledge can speed run operational knowledge. R&D soending is the ignirion to light the fire. China has a lot of R&D spending today.

Practical experience doesn't matter when you have raw brain power. In terms of the actua tech, they will produce some of the world,s most advanced tech and weaponry. This is inevitable. They probably already lead in certain fields Practical experience doesn't matter in "making" the advanced tech, which is what we are discussing. Practical experience matters in "using" the advanced tech, which is not what we were discussing. You are talking about how china will "use" their aircraft carrier. This is not what we were talking about. We were talking about if China can leapfrog and make advanced tech. They certainly can as what you need for this are 1) Brain Power, which China has always had. 2) A big budget to invest in R&D, which China didn't have in the past but has now and 3) Political will. China has all three today. The J20 was designed in the 2000,s which doesn't matter. 5 th generation stealth tech from that era is what the United States uses.
