What would you realistically do if you won £2m tax-free?

RedditReader365@reddit

These threads always surprise me when they try and downplay how much money this is. Like I’m not gonna be the next Jeff bezos with 2 million but also, the majority of the uk earns 30k and makes saves 5-6 k a year after everything and that’s considered super good. Most people won’t ever touch 2 million in their lives. Only on British reddit would see people reducing how sick it would be to get that kinda money 🤣

How do I escape my endless cycle?

I don’t have much to say , but I think you’ll see from the comments that you’ve done really well. Not many people have achieved what you have at such a young age. I know you didn’t ask for a lecture but my 2 cents is to try and practice gratitude. Feels like a dirty word on Reddit but genuinely, spend some time with family and browse reddit. You’ll see people are double your age wishing they had what you did. Well done and you’ll make it out of this rut soon :)

Do you think you would continue your job if you won the lottery?

How do introverts survive in a British work culture?

Posted by Hot-Education-8154@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 504 comments

RedditReader365@reddit

I’m going through this but in a bad way. early on , as with most people trying to make a good impression, I was way more visible. Being that go happy extrovert. And I think I can wear both hats fine but I ultimately lean towards introvert . Especially at work when they aren’t really your friends. The issue now is change . As I’ve started to pull back, people are hyper aware and ask if anything’s wrong and start doing welfare checks on me ! I’m fine ofc, if anything my outputs are even higher then before since I’m spending less time pandering but I think it’s effecting my status at work. So annoying

If you won £100 million, how would you distribute it amongst friends and family, if at all?

Posted by PaddedValls@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 1626 comments

RedditReader365@reddit

I would do half and half of peoples approach’s. I wouldn’t tell anyone how much I actually won So the real number remains with me, I’d say to my closest friends and immediate family I’d won 20 million. And of that I’d give 5 million away to everyone Tell the same people I’ve put away 10 for myself And live off the 5 million ! When in reality I have way more lol. And people won’t think the difference as once your a millionaire you don’t compare 10 to 90 million . ( some would ofc but most people can’t fathom that as liquid cash!). There’s probably someone thinking why lie about it, and I think my family and friends deserve some and I want to make life easier for them. But greed affects everyone’s heart sometimes. So il bear the lie and make it easier for all!

Are you satisfied with your life, and if so, why?

I am It’s always a controversial thing to admit bc the general consensus online is that we all hate our lives. Unfortunately even more so with brits ! But I’m really happy, I genuinely love my job. I travel and get paid to do it. I lost 30 kilos and am in the best shape of my life. My finances have never been better and my friendships and hobbies are at an all time high. Not in a relationship and in my mid twenties but that doesn’t detract from it at all since I’m not looking ! Just want to say it hasn’t always been like this. It’s easy to brag on the internet but my life was in the gutter for 5 years before the last 2 So I worked really hard to cultivate my reality !

Ah for years I would go to top set maths, be the worst there and go back to set 2 Back and forth ! The biggest jump I ever did was in year 9 they put me in set 6. From set 1… And with all due respect, set 6 was mainly the kids who couldn’t speak English, ones with learning difficulties or ones who would punch the teachers. I couldn’t believe it, and it was never explained to me why I was stuck there for 6 months until the test and shot right back to set 1!
