My mom had an Audi that her and my dad drove with the 3.0t, they refused to let that car eat ever, and it got a bad miss in #5 cyl I believe. It was carbon build up due to not enough hard reving when first started or ever. A performance vehicle needs to perform sometimes

Do you stop to help someone with a flat tire?

I had a guy stop on a 110* day when I had ran out of gas pushing the motorcycle I'd just bought down the interstate. I had about 5-10 miles to the next gas station. He helped me lift my bike into the back of his truck and gave me a ride to the gas station. I try and help ppl out that I see on the side of the road. The year it seems to be ppl from out of the country who are doing cross country journeys. Australian, englishman, and a Russian. One American too. Gave them rides to get what they needed or a warm place to spend an unusually cold night

How common is leaving your AC on 24/7, even when the house is empty?

I’m stupid. Could someone explain turbos to me like I’m 3?

Compound turbo is what you are thinking. Twin turbo is one turbo for 4cyl and another turbo for 4 cyl, assuming it's a v8 engine. Compound turbo is the smaller one spools bigger one, eliminating lag

Is it worth it to put money into a 2004 Chevy Aveo with 104k miles while saving for a better car?

Don't worry about AC, roll the windows down. Unless you are in a few places, heat is only a 1/3 of the year. Everything else is worth fixing, but the parts yourself, use YouTube, do one thing at a time. Unless they are in the same area, pads/rotors for example. Buy some Craftsman or similar tools and get to work. A basic 40-60 piece ratchet set will get you most of the way, buy other tools as needed individually. Craftsman has lifetime warranty that most places that carry will honor no receipt.

Does the speedmeter on cars actually show it a little bit above what you are actually going or did my dad just want me to shut up?

Yep both of my trucks have over sized tires. The newer one is programmed to be the size it is, but it's still off. The old one isn't programmed at all and is about the same off if I remember right.

I actually swapped the motor in it in auto shop early bird over a couple months. Never had as much power after. The motor I put in was probly worn out. Today I would've just rebuilt old motor, but I was 15/16 at the time lol

There's always a job you have to buy some extra tools for on a new to you car. I personally have never been upset I bought any tool,, even if I could get by without, having it makes other jobs easier

My friend says changing your own oil is a waste of time. Is he crazy?

Hey that's awesome to know. I occasionally fill up a cummins motor with an extra half quart if it's going to be running hard for 1000 miles. The trucks I'm thinking of leak oil tho, so it's not a truly sealed system so that makes a difference I think. More oil if it doesn't destroy it is definitely not going to be a bad thing, but most motors are not able to handle extra oil. Will blow seals and cause other problems. I'm going to keep this info in the back of my mind tho, k24 can handle extra oil.

As someone who's been all over the country working and driving, can confirm, although 90 is pretty normal in either of the Dakotas or Wyoming or Montana. Montana resident, wish we still had reasonable and prudent (no speed limit)

North Western states the interstate in 75-80mph Most of the rest of the country is 70mph. Some places are 65 mph. 80-90 mph is a common speed around any city with multiple lanes, not "legal" but unless you're being really stupid you won't get pulled over for it. Our speed limits are actually for commercial vehicles, but they are used as revenue generators and civilians get pulled over and ticketed.

What is your dream 'affordable' vehicle ?
