Are the UK’s domestic cats the serious threat to birds and other wildlife that we are told that they are?

I expect some cats are prolific hunters. However, for everyone one of those there are probably more like mine that couldn’t catch its arse with an atlas. I swear she’d starve if we didn’t feed her. Birds generally know when there is a cat around. They stay away. Although I’ve seen some torment my cat because of her total ineptitude as a hunter.

"Aitch" or "Haitch"?

I’m absolutely rubbish at going to bed so yeah I’d sign up. It might be the positive reinforcement I need to get a good sleep.

Is it outside of the norm for a British person to stay overnight with their wife/girlfriend in the hospital after she gives birth?

Depends on the type of place you give birth. Midwife centre with my first yes he could stay with me. Second one I was in hospital on a ward and no he couldn’t. Honestly was so much better that he went home and left me to it. I got lots more rest that way.

What do you think when someone tells you that they’ve stopped drinking/ dont drink?

Family history means that I don’t drink very much, the odd glass of wine maybe at Xmas. When I’m out I just tell people I don’t drink. I’m often the driver for this reason. Most people don’t enquire further. If people try the “oh go on just have one” I usually just go with I don’t like the taste so no. Honestly these days most people don’t even ask or try and persuade. I think it’s far more accepted that people choose not to drink.

what do you carry, every day without fail?
