"Driver Managers" and "Fleet Leaders" suck. Anyone willing to call themselves dispatcher gets a chance at my respect. They get the shit-end of the stick as often as the drivers. 14 years OTR. A good dispatcher is a decent driver's greatest ally.

Oh yeah? I got over 7 billion miles and never needed one of those fancy CB radios. I come from a day when we weren't afraid to ask for directions by sending smoke signals through a pay phone and a firm handshake.

Lumpy_Stand27@reddit

This is correct. But, why? Why do they need the cages? I've done general freight flatbed and never needed a cage. Why do they need the cage? Vibration explodes the coil straps mid-transit?

I'm having flashbacks to my remodeling/window replacement/vinyl siding days. Homeowner: "I'm an engineer so I know how this kind of thing works. But, now the windows won't open." Me:

What is he hauling that. Needs 4 axels on a tanker or is this normal?

Worse than that is the driver that sits 50 yards back at a smaller fuel joint so they can select the next available pump. Seems to happen at the older Loves and smaller Pilots. And to that driver, if there's room, I'm going around you and getting behind the truck with someone actually at the pump. Honk and yell all you want. I don't care.

How the hell are you all staying AWAKE?

No offense. I'm not approaching any woman at a truck stop. I'm fit and take showers. I'm open to making friends but TA/FlyJ/Pilot/Loves ain't the story either of us want.

How?
