Why did you stop playing sports?

Posted by COLTRXN@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 68 comments

ImpressiveGift9921@reddit

I'm not too sure.  I really didn't like pe at school which was one of my primary experiences with sport. Perhaps negative experiences there put me off?  I'm also a sore loser, so competition is something I actively avoid.

What was your experience of jury service?

Posted by T_raltixx@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 77 comments

ImpressiveGift9921@reddit

Massive waste of time. Got a case that somehow made it to court with no evidence. The 'victim' was a serial liar who spent about 4 days giving evidence when it should have taken 1. The problem with the case overload that we supposedly need to get rid of juries for, is down to the quality of the cases making it to court in the first place.

It's not propaganda though is it. Many of us wouldn't even get into the country if our social media history were checked. Why would we go when we might get deported or worse? The US just isn't good enough to justify the risk.

I did it for an afternoon as a kid. Couldn't do it. I'm too much of an introvert.  Also I didn't like disturbing peoples peace and the boss wanted us to claim that work done in the area by other firms was his company and target the elderly. It just felt scummy.
